Eva looked to Oliver, “So I’m guessing your from France?”
Eva looked to Oliver, “So I’m guessing your from France?”
Oliver laughed. “Yes, if you couldn’t tell by my accent or that I was speaking French. I’ve lived there my whole life.” He never had travelled outside the country until now.
Eva laughed as she smiled, “Maravilloso! I’m from México, and I never imagined leaving to go to a school like this!”
Tenley walked inside "so, what up?" She shrugged helplessly
I know sign language… Meredith thought, not sharing her comment with anyone else. It was strange being the only person in the small group that didn't speak a foreign language.
Robin decided that he should at least say hi to other people. So he got up and walked over to the people. "hello." he said quietly, his british accent clearly showing.
Meredith noticed the boy's accent, shrinking back into her seat at the sight of yet another stranger. British…that's a little closer to American. At least it's generally the same language. She smiled politely, but she couldn't get a greeting to come out of her mouth.
Oliver glanced over to see another guy that seemed his age. “Hey, wanna join us?” he said, smiling. The guy seemed British, so not too far from France.
Robin nodded slightly, not sure what to do.
Tenley looked up at the British boy "you're from the UK too?" She asked
"Uh, yeah I am." Robin replied to her.
Another person in the group. Oh no…I'm going to forget everyone's names. I should have stayed in the room by myself. Meredith thought, fidgeting with one of the bracelets around her wrist.
"Hola! It's nice to meet you," Eva smiled brightly offering a hand, "I'm Eva. What's your name?"
"I'm Robin." He replied and shook her hand.
"Great name!" Eva took her hand back and placed it back on her lap, "So your from Britain?"
"yeah. I am…" He said. He wasn't used to talking to people this much.
"Bueno! I'm from México," Eva leaned back, "So what do you think about all this?"
Meredith recognized the way this new boy, Robin, spoke. It's nice to see that someone else here is introverted. After meeting Eva and Oliver, I thought I'd be the only one. She waved nervously at him as if signaling that she understood.
Robin waved slightly then answered the question. "Um I think this is weird and different."
"Really?" Eva quirked an eyebrow, "What about is weird?"
Christabel wandered around aimlessly, looking for something to do.
"being in a private school in the middle of nowhere." He said then sat down in a empty chair.
"Okay that is a little weird," Eva agreed using her hands to make wide gestures, "But we get to talk to people with other experiences! From other countries! And learn stuff!"
"yeah. I would rather be home though." He admitted to her.
"Me too. Home sounds….nice." Meredith replied, still messing with her bracelets.
Eva sighed and started to play with the grooves on the table, "Yeah, home is home. Though I'm excited to be here and try new things. I can't wait to get back home."
"yeah. This is cool I guess…" Robin sighed and looked at the floor.
“I agree. Home is home,” Oliver said quietly, jumping his leg up and down. “But, exploring new stuff is way cool, too.” His voice got louder with the second sentence, eyes now bright.
Eva laughed and hopped off her seat, "Yeah! We should keep going, I want to find the music wing!"
More exploring…do these people ever rest? Meredith asked herself, trying not to show her disappointment on her face. I suppose the music wing could be fun. I like singing.
