Devon gave him a small smile, nodding slightly. She was glad he seemed to like it on her. "Yes, let's. I'm starving," she chuckled gently.

They headed into the restaurant, sitting down in their designated booth. Sebastian anxiously tugged at his freshly ironed collar, biting down on his tongue.

"So…" Devon started as she sat down and glanced at the menu. She brought her eyes up to meet his, giving him an encouraging smile. "I guess we don't really know that much about each other, do we?"

"I mean.. yeah," Sebastian admitted, suddenly sheepish. "Do you want to… I dunno, talk? Play twenty questions?"

Devon chuckled lightly. “Sure, that sounds good. Do you want to go first or should I?”

"Uhh.. you ask first. Please. I'm really bad at this kind of stuff, as you can probably tell." He tapped his fingers against the surface of the table, inhaling deeply.

Devon clicked her tongue as she thought of something to ask. “Well… Which fictional place would you most like to go to?”

Surprised by the question, Sebastian unknowingly stuck his tongue out a tiny bit between his lips as he thought. "Uh, I guess I'd have to choose.. Elysium, basically Ancient Greek paradise. Does that count?"

Devon smiled a little at the face he made. Gosh, he was adorable sometimes…

“That counts. I think I’d have to say Narnia. I’ve alwayd wanted to go to Narnia, for as long as I can remember,” she mused thoughtfully.

"Narnia…" Sebastian scrunched his brow in concentration. "Is that the one through the mirror? Or the closet?"

“It’s a wardrobe,” Devon chuckled softly. “But, yeah.”

Sebastian laughed quietly. "Sorry, I don't really know my book stuff very well. Is it my turn to ask?"

“Mmhm. So ask away,” Devon said, smiling across the table at him.

"Um…. If you didn't have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?" Sebastian was unsure where the question had come from, but he was admittedly proud of it.

“Uh… Gosh, I don’t know… Honestly, I would probably clean,” Devon admitted. “My apartment is a mess…”

He let out a light chuckle. "I meant recreationally, but that works too."

“Well, it’s not like I can do much,” Devon said with a shrug. “What about you?”

"I'd…." Sebastian trailed off. "I'm not actually sure."

Devon shrugged. “So, it’s not so bad that I choose cleaning,” she chuckled. “Okay, if you had unlimited funds to build a house that you would live in for the rest of your life, what would the finished house be like?”

Sebastian blinked at the question, finding the words 'unlimited funds' and 'live in a house' to be unfamiliar and difficult to comprehend. "Uh.. that's hard to imagine. But I guess it would be small, not too big, since I'm only one person. A nice backyard, maybe suitable for a dog. Simple stuff, really. Sort of.. cottagey. Anything homey. In other words, the opposite of where I grew up." He hadn't registered the words before they'd flown out of his mouth. Crap. "I- I wasn't supposed to say that."

Devon’s gaze softened at his words. “It’s okay, Sebastian. If you need to talk about anything, just know that I’m here, okay?”

Sebastian nodded awkwardly, swallowing as his eyes darted away. "What about you? For the house, I mean?"

“Me? Oh… Uh. Maybe medium-sized, with at least two bathrooms. A few bedrooms, a nice garden in the back. A pretty big backyard for Layla and any other kids I may have. Like three bedrooms, at least,” Devon said, looking away thoughtfully. “Yeah… I think that’s it.”

Sebastian nodded, grinning. "Sounds like a pretty sweet deal."

“So, it’s your turn now,” Devon chuckled. “Now that we’ve gotten that question out of the way.”
