Citra darted forward forgoing magic she tackled the hunter head on. Her fists connecting to his face in a flurry of rage filled punches. She was losing it, emotions too wild to control herself anymore. After a moment of grappling, and a gnarly knee to the stomach, Citra raised above the Hunter, victorious. "Got it!" She gasped holding it above her head.
Frost smiled in relief even though she still couldn't stop attacking the barrier. can they break the spell she asked herself as she watched the hunters flee.
(What?! No that does something else entirely plus amulets are mostly indestructible
What they have to do is command the amulet. If you've ever watched Once Upon A Time it's similar to the stolen heart thing. (Note I came up with it long before I ever watched the show)
So to put it simply they would have to tell her shes free through the amulet.)
(What if they command her through it until the battle is ended?)
(That works too.. although it would lower her power level considerably)
Zol raced over to Citra and took the amulet from her. Lower your shields!” he said.
He held the amulet and commanded that she fight for them.
Frost felt her body pause as the new command took hold. Suddenly she unwillingly shifted, pain racing through her body as she tackled one of the oncoming hunters. Her claws cut into his back as she tore open his leg and lunged for the next hunter. not what I had in mind… she thought as she mangled two more hunters. but it's better than hurting my freinds…
Zol realized his error immediately. “Be free.” He commanded into the amulet. Please work.
Frost immediately stopped. Panting as she pulled herself away from the hunters she'd maimed and trying to ignore the blood on her muzzle, and paws. She didnt bother shifting knowing the blood would still be there as she headed for the river to try and get rid of the blood.
Citra stared, blinking in surprise. "That was…interesting…" She said, sounding strangled. She had not expected that her friend could be controlled so easily. "Perhaps we should give it back." Citra whispered to Zol, nudging him back towards Frost.
Frost stumbled to the river shifting only once she was knee deep and diving down into the depths. the current wasn't too bad, but she was grateful for the fact that it washed away the blood on her hands and face, she was holding her breath, but after a few minutes she let it go, allowing the water to wash the tang of blood out of her mouth. A few minutes more and she went for the surface, pulling herself up on the bank she pushed her long hair back.
Zol closed his eyes wearily, close to sinking onto the ground. “I have made another grave error. We should regroup and find a safe camp.”
(So are most of the Hunters down, or are there more left?)
(I think most of them will have run off by now… so no retreat is necessary..)
Frost slowly walked up to Zol, her eyes clouded, "thanks.. for keeping me from hurting you…" she said softly..
Piper sighed, letting the water fall down besides her. “I agree. It’s better we find camp rather now than later, since the Hunters might regroup and come back.” Her whole body was aching, and she desperately needed to sleep.
"I don't think they'll be coming back," said Frost her voice still quiet. "After all the chances of a base much larger in numbers than that is pretty slim this far away from Wolf Territories…."
Citra remained quiet, staring at the ground. She was still covered in dirt and blood, but she trusted her friends to make the right decision. A violent shudder passed through her, making licks of blackflame appear in her hair. "Safe camp." She finally whispered, clenching her shaking hands.
Zol did not look Frost in the eye. "I did what was not right. I was in the heat of battle and did not think clearly. Please forgive me."
He held out his hand to Citra. "Do not let your grief overpower you," he whispered, "do not let blackness shroud your heart."
"Let us find rest wherever we may." he said out loud.
"It's ok.." She said calmly, "One thing about these incantations is that they are taken to the worst extreme possible depending on the command," she explained softly, "There's no way you could have known"
He bowed his head. "Thank you." he whispered.
Piper shivered. It isn’t cold. Why am I cold? “Can we hurry, please? The team is in need of rest.” She glanced at Citra, who looked like she had been through too much for her age.
Zol held out his hand to Citra. "Do not let your grief overpower you," he whispered, "do not let blackness shroud your heart."
"Let us find rest wherever we may." he said out loud.
One of the halfbloods came up to them, "There should be a small cavern upstream," he said, "Given that the hunters should be taken care of it should be safe, Although I suggest you get out of the area before our alpha comes to, The rest of us are grateful for your help, but our alpha has a thing against hybrid elementals.." he explained…
Citra jumped as Zol's hand came into view. She looked up at him with wide dark eyes, looking for all the world like a lost soul. "I–" she started, about to tell him that she was fine, but the words would not come out. Instead, she carefully took his hand in hers, afraid that she might hurt him too if she wasn't careful.
Zol squeezed it gently. "You will not fall."
"We should probably do as he said and get out of here…" said Frost, gently taking her amulet from Zol's hand and replacing it around her neck.
