"Get out of our way!" yelled the lead Hunter, "Or we'll hunt you with the rest of our quarry!"
"Get out of our way!" yelled the lead Hunter, "Or we'll hunt you with the rest of our quarry!"
Citra summoned a blackflame that coiled itself around their ragtag group, an added layer of protection should anyone get through Zol's wall of light. SHe kept her hands loose and ready at her sides, just in case she had to whip her magic around. She eyed the hunters with contempt, ready to do battle to protect her friends.
Zol gazed at him with an unveiled contempt. "What are you to be hunting others?" he said coldly.
"And do not speak thus. I could destroy you if I so pleased, so speak gentle words in my ears…
Lest I become wroth with thee."
"The Wolves are a filthy breed! They deserve this!" Yelled the leader, ignorant of the danger he was in, "Especially those filthy halfbreeds!" yelled another holding up a red amulet, several other Hunters followed suit, each holding up a different amulet, with several of the various pack members paling considerably with fear, Including Frostfire. "no…." she whispered her voice filled with fear and anger. "You Bastards!!" She shrieked, horrified and enraged at the sight of the amulets.
Citra tensed further, picking up on the anger and sorrow of the pack behind her. She took several steps closer to Piper, feeling more comforted in the girl's presence. It was quickly becoming apparent they had walked into the middle of war. Her blackflame roiled around the clearing, looking angrier and deadlier the more tense she became.
The hunters summoned their aura, causing the amulets to glow. Then several more people, in wolf and human forms crept out, they were dressed in ragged clothing, or had matted fur. they were all dirty and unkempt, but the most unnerving part, was the fear, and hopelessness in their eyes, every halfblood in the pack recoiled from the sight, their fear and sadness clear.
"This is why we fight against hunters." said Frost, Anger in her voice, "They have tried for centuries to enslave us, use us against our will. And Now, with the abundance of Halfblood wolves… There is more danger than ever before,"
Zol's voice rang out. "I have given you warning! I command you to depart."
He stared at them, his golden eyes full of cloaked majesty. "If you wish to defy me, there will remain no alternative but battle." He paused. "And trust my word when I say… You will be destroyed."
"Zol wait!" Frost went to him, "Not all of them are enemies!"
Citra's blackflame flared at Zol's words, raging wildly around them. A fluttering sense of pride for him flared in her chest. She hoped the heat from her flames disguised the blush that tinted her cheeks. This the worst time for her feelings for him to become apparent. Citra frowned, casually sliding into a fighting position, thanking the stars that her brothers had at least taught her how to fight. "They will not leave." She said to anyone listening.
Zol lowered his hands. The glow from them faded and he looked a little confused. "What did you say?"
"Those people.." she said, "We can't hurt them… They're being forced to fight against us, against their will and there's nothing they can do about it.."
"What do we do?" he asked.
"We have to get their amulets back and set them free!" Said Frost shuddering a the assorted Halfblood prisoners were forced to attack, "But we also have to get past them… Just disable! don't harm…" she said before running to help the rogue pack with the counter attack.
Zol went right to the leader. He dodged around and reappeared with his hands on each side of his staff, which was slipped around the leader's neck. "Let the battle cease!" he shouted.
Piper sent the columns of water pummeling towards the wolfs, pushing them back. Some were knocked out by the force, and she winced. We don't want to hurt them! She continued to send the water flying at the wolves, careful to keep them light enough to not harm them, but hard enough to push them back a considerable amount.
Citra paused, unsure of what to do. Her power was fire and that hurt. She grunted in frustration, dousing her flames as she darted forward, punching a hunter straight in the face. She spun to kick another in the stomach, only to get caught around the middle by the one she punched. She yelped as the breath was squeezed from her lungs, but after cursing colorfully she burst into flame, body covered in that wild blackflame. The man screamed and Citra slammed the back of her head into the mans nose, the smell of burning flesh making her gag. When she stood again, her flames had gone out. She stared down at the man in horror, his skin blistered and melted. He let out a final gasp reaching for her, but she stepped back. I–I–killed him.
Two hunters went for Zol while the hunter he was holding screamed bloody murder at him.
most of the victim halfbloods were pinned under Pipers water magic.
Frost went to Citra, "He deserved it!" she said pulling a white jewel amulet out of his pocket, whispering something to it a ragged halfblood girl ran over collapsing in tears of fear "Just look what he did to her" she said softly comforting the girl
“I can’t hold them for too much longer!” Piper called. Her body ached as she held it, and if she continued to do it for too long, she would collapse. I could hold them a lot longer if I was whole.
Frost nodded, "Citra can you comfort her?" she asked handing the trembling girl over to citra, laying the amulet around the girls neck before freeing more of the halfbloods, working quickly she and the rogue pack soon had all but three free. but unfortunately these were Tsnami Halfbloods (Wind element.. and without getting into mystic elements they are the most powerful and may or may not have wings in wolf form or in both forms or none at all.)
Citra nodded numbly, looking down at her hands. "Of course." She murmured. I killed him. He's dead. Life. I took a life, no matter how horrid. I am just as dark as they said. Evil. The fight was still going on around them. Citra jerked herself back into action, darting over to the hunter's approaching Zol. She raised her fist, preparing to blast them with a blackflame arrow but her fire would not come. She balked, stunned. "What…?" That man is dead because of you Citra! She cursed silently, moving out of the way of the two hunter's now coming towards her. Now. Is. NOT. The. Time. For. This.
She reached for her flame again, but found nothing but embers. I am evil. A hunter slammed her against a tree, squeezing her throat. She wheezed, praying and cursing the gods for making her this way. Reaching for the tree's shadow she hoped her darkness wasn't affected by her tumultuous thoughts. Immediately, the shadow pooled in her palm, stretching and solidifying into a staff, which she swung wildly, smacking both hunters and knocking them to the ground. Gasping, she spun her shadow staff and it shifted into two blades, which she pointed at the throats of the hunters. "I wouldn't move." She whispered, tears threatening to fall. She was shaking. What have I done?
(Whoa…. drama…)
Frost backed away as three hunters and three imprisoned Half Tsunami's came towards her and Zol. the Tsnami on the left had wings and was in human form, the one on the right was in wolf form and had wings, the one in the middle had no wings and was identified thanks to the tornado in his hand.
(I guess I'm not all that nice to my characters…. aheh my bad…)
(No worries! I'm just as bad..)
Piper stumbled to her knees, weakened greatly by the power excursion. Out of he corner of her eye, she spotted Frost, who was being approached by three wolves. In a last attempt to save her friend, she threw out a wall of water, pushing them back into trees. Hopefully they’re knocked out… the last thought entered her mind. The pool of back succumbing her vision, she fell with a splash in the stream, where a menacing looking Hunter approached her.
one of the pack wolves went to protect Piper, and Frost went for the hunters who had the tsunami's amulets she managed to take out 2 out ended up pinned by the third, He grasped her amulet andf whispered something into it, taking it from her as he got up.
(Uh oh… frost has turned against you!)
Zol leapt up and slammed his staff down, creating a circle of light that threw all the hunters away from him. They fell to the ground. Unconscious. At least, he hoped they were.
Zol ran towards Citra.
"Back!" he shouted, "Enough!"
Frost got up to her feet, and summoned ice spears, No! I have to fight it!! she thought frantically as she aimed the bolts at her friends…. two seconds later they flew towards her friends.
Zol leapt up and slammed his staff down, creating a circle of light that threw all the hunters away from him. They fell to the ground. Unconscious. At least, he hoped they were.
Zol ran towards Citra right as she collapsed.
"Back!" he shouted, "Enough!"
(Piper collapsed. Citra's having a mental breakdown. kinda)
one of Frost's Ice bolt hit and froze the stream just as the other half-bloods pulled Piper out of the river, But the next two headed right for Zol and Citra
Citra had a split second to decide if she wanted to be impaled by an ice spear or tackled by one of the Hunter's she was holding down. With another curse, she flashed up one of her shadow blades, blocking the spear, but not enough as it hit her arm leaving a deep scratch. Her grunt got cut off as one of the hunter's tackled her to the ground. She had her shadow blade to his throat within a moment, but hesitated. She couldn't–wouldn't kill again. Right?
