She looked down, seeming almost ashamed. "Alright.."
She looked down, seeming almost ashamed. "Alright.."
"Hey," he spoke softly, carefully nudging her chin back up. "None of that, okay? You've got nothing to be ashamed of."
Her eyes were round and moist with worry. "I know, but…"
"But?" he prompted gently, wishing he could take her into his arms. Unfortunately the camp was full; it was too risky.
"Nevermind," she exhaled.
Pierre sighed, the dying sun casting shadows across his face. "I won't press… but don't feel guilty, or ashamed."
"Can I sleep with you tonight?" Edonine asked in a hush.
Peter followed him diligently. "Tell me what you need me to do."
"Can I sleep with you tonight?" Edonine asked in a hush.
(In the non-sexual way I assume?)

Yes xD )
Peter followed him diligently. "Tell me what you need me to do."
"Shoot the rebels, shoot the men who run."

"Shoot the rebels, shoot the men who run."
Peter nodded and complied immediately.
Andre ran out and the heat of the sun splayed across his face. It stunned him. So gentle, and warm, the sun smelled like Jane.
"John?" Peter asked. The lieutenant had stopped. "John, what are you doing?"
He blinked. This is *war, John, not a love story!* he shook his head back to reality. "Nothing."
Peter arched his eyebrows before looking back and shooting a Patriot. "Whatever you're doing, do it quickly. They aren't stopping their press."
"Sorry," he exhaled, and dove into battle.
(Timeskip to when the battle is over?)
Sure)
"Can I sleep with you tonight?" Edonine asked in a hush.

Yes xD )
(sorry, just wanted to be sure XD)
"Of course," he told her, volume dropping.
It's ok! )
She smiled briefly with relief. Her green eyes flickered down. "Okay."
"What, did you think I was going to say no to my favourite person?" Pierre attempted to lighten the mood, trying for a slight smile.
She did smile, a little. "Of course not…"
"There's that smile…." Pierre reached out for her instinctively, then pulled back, remembering where they were. "Do you want to go back to the tent or stay here a little longer?"
"Can we go for a walk in the woods?" Edonine asked.
Pierre glanced back over his shoulder, calculating how much trouble they could potentially get into. "Sure, yeah."

That made her smile more. "Let me get my flask for water,"
"Alright," he answered, barely refraining from reaching towards her again. "I'll wait here?"
"Mhm!" She scampered away. She looked so small in men's clothes.
Pierre watched her go, a ghost of a smile still lingering on his face despite the brief terror that flitted across it. How would she fare tomorrow? Her first battle… his stomach twisted, horrifying images flashing before his mind's eye.
