Sparrow finally found Cyrus and opened her mouth to talk to him about the designs when she heard him talk. Frowning, she walked closer to the door, trying to see who was there.
Nathan squeaked when he saw a shadow appear b-but that girl said t-they were b-bad people!"
"Maybe… but what can we do now? We've been caught, haven't we?" Vida whispered.
Cyrus looked to Sparrow. "Someone's sneaking around over there."
He quickly finished putting on one of the bandages.
Nathan looked at Vida "can we ask for something to eat before we go?" He asked, his once bright eyes, growing dull with each passing second
Sparrow nodded and looked out the doorway
"Yeah, Nathan," Vida said, trying to be reassuring, "We can…"
Cyrus alternated between looking over his shoulder to make sure nothing happened to Sparrow and continuing working on Esmea's wounds.
Katya rolled her eyes at the other two. She looked out to the people, she wasn’t sure if they were bad or good, but either way she didn’t want to get caught.
Sparrow gaped "what the?! Kids?!! Why are there kids here?!" She asked, looking out of the doorway and at the small group of children outside.
Nathan tried to blend in with the walls
Knowing there was no fighting it, Vida stepped forwards when Sparrow saw her.
"Please! Don't hurt, us m-m-miss!" She faked being about to cry.
Cyrus looked up, laughing. "Um… kids?"
Katya figured putting up an act wouldn’t do any good. But maybe she could become one with the wall. She didn’t want to talk to the adults.
Luna looked at Cyrus and Sparrow, “M-more kids?”
Eira walked into the room, holding some papers in her hand, "Hey guys, I was thinking- uh… children? Why are there children?"
Kyle glared at the adults, "Vida, get back here." He hissed.
"It's too late now.." Vida mouthed back when Sparrow turned around, "They already saw us."
Cyrus got up from where he'd kneeled on one knee to wrap some bandages around a smaller cut on Esmea's leg. "I don't know. Get them over here, maybe? We can't leave this girl unattended."
"They're kids! They're not gonna listen to me." Eira crossed her arms and frowned.
"We can't just assume that! Just be friendly, and maybe they will," Cyrus replied.
He let out a big sigh. "How many kids are we talking?"
"Uh…" Eira pinched the bridge of her nose, "Four more I think?"
"Okay, could be worse… Could be worse…" Cyrus was absolutely stumped on what to do.
That didn't matter much, because Vida just stood there, waiting for something to happen.
"Who… who are you?" she asked, batting her eyes and acting like she was trying to blink away tears.
"I'm Eira," She said to Vida, "Who might you be?" She asked, smiling softly.
"Don't trust her." Kyle said to Vida, walking up next to the little girl.
"Yep can't leave me alone." Esmea grinned and stood up. The bandages were on good enough. "Wow, it's the liar accuser." She waved with a bitter smile. She walked over to them and saw a small little boy, he was cute but way to young for this life. She felt bad. "And I'm Uriah, it's nice to meet you all." Uriah bent down to they're level, so they didn't feel looked down on.
Katya didn’t like these people and the attention she got. She spotted mean girl and liked everything even less. She looked around for something she could hide behind as she started muttering to herself.
Luna watched the children and noticed how one was talking. The rest must not have agreed witg her plan or something, “I-I’m Luna.”
“I’m Vida,” she said very softly, still trying to keep up something of an act by seeming as cute and fragile as possible.
Cyrus followed Esmea to make sure that she didn’t do anything stupid, and then he locked eyes with Vida. Her eyes widened when she saw him. He blinked and looked away, thinking he had scared her.
"But they're literally kids. This one looks around Esmea's age and this one looks like a baby." She said, gesturing to Kyle and Nathan
"Hey! I'm 6, not a baby!" He shouted
"Yeah, that's the thing… How did they get past our security, and why are they here, of all places?" Cyrus wondered aloud, "It's not like they could've sought us out, asking for training or offering a hand."
"We ran away from the bad men!" Nathan blurtednout then slapped his hands over his mouth.
Sparrow looked at cyrus "are you thinking…" she trailed off, her eyes moving over each child, looking at their dirty faces and demeanor.
"Oh… my god…" Cyrus murmured, "You might be right… These poor kids…"
He lowered his gaze a bit. "Where are your parents? Were you taken from them?"
Katya scowled as she hid behind Vida. The wall wasn't working as well as she wanted it too.
"Which bad man?" Esmea asked, her cold personality melting away. She had siblings and knew what it was like to be separated from the people you love. Plus she had a soft spot for younger kids since they always reminded her of all her younger siblings. "I escaped as well." She laid down her weapon and walked over to the boy with a gentle smile. She thought maybe her would trust her more than the adults. She didn't know if she could ever trust another adult. "I'm Esmea," She thought maybe that they escaped from where she did as well.
"I don't… I don't know…" Vida whispered, "They didn't say…"
She was close to real tears this time. She didn't remember much, and the men hadn't let on much about who they were. What she did know, however, was that something horrible must have happened.
Nathan looked at Vida and grabbed her hand. "We dont know. The man told us we had to help him." He frowned
Sparrow sat down on the floor infront of the kids "hey, it's ok. You're safe now." She said softly to Vida.
(Everyone's just surrounding Vida. Lol)
Luna watched the kids from the back, so Esmea was that puta's name.
Katya heard the voice of 'Esmea' and immediately connected her to the mean girl from earlier. She wasn't trusting any of these people.
Kyle gave Vida a hug, a small but comforting hug, "I don't think any of us know where they are…" He muttered.
(Vidais just that lovable lmao)
Spqreow saw anothe little girl standing by herself. She beckoned her over "c'mere." She said to Katya
