"He makes a big deal out of everything." She smiled. "Rude but true. Well, since you're home we're gonna head out. See ya later girl!" Macy and Mark hugged her before heading out, locking the door behind them. "Well that was fun."
“So… What should we do now?”

"Not sure. I've been wanting to finish my book so I'd probably do that."
(Don’t worry about it. I’m watching a show, so I’m slow at responses.)
“Okay. I might wander the town,” Sterling mused.
"Don't get jumped." She was only half kidding as she wandered to the bookshelf and plucked one off, relaxing into the couch as she cracked it open and began to read.
Sterling chuckled. “Wouldn’t be the first time.”
The cats jumped onto the couch next to her and she pet them without looking, just reading and listening to them purr.
Sterling grabbed his things and walked over to kiss her cheek. “I’ll be back in a while.”
She pushed her glasses up with the back of her hand, really hoping he wouldn't actually check to see what she was reading.
“Whatcha readin’ there?” Sterling asked, moving behind her and kissing the top of her head.
"Um…nothing much." She fought to keep the blush off her face. I refuse to admit I'm reading 50 Shades. Not happening.
Sterling reached over the back of the couch and lifted the book cover. He chuckled a bit when he read the title before leaning over to murmur in her ear, "Did you not get enough of this earlier? Because I would gladly repeat it for you…"
She swatted him away. "Weren't you leaving? Leave me to read my sins in peace."
Sterling chuckled a bit before kissing her neck and finally pulling away. “All right, all right. I just thought you’d rather have the experience than just read it. Sorry, sweetheart.”
"Hmm…maybe." She chuckled. "Later though. You need to get out of this apartment and I need to open a window. The sex smell is way too thick in here."
Sterling laughed a little as he made his way to the door. “We can fix that later. You’d be amazed what a nice shower can do.”
"Meh, I'm reading." She waved him off.
“Yeah, yeah. That’s why I said later, sweetheart. When I come back,” Sterling chuckled. “I’ll see you in a bit.”
"Bye!" She waved from the couch before going back to reading and petting her cats.

Sterling stepped back into the apartment about an hour later, a bag in his hand while his other hand was stuffed in his front pocket. “Cass? I’m back,” he called.
She was still curled up on the couch, book in hand and cats in her lap. "Hey."
“You’re still working on that book?” Sterling noticed as he walked into the room. He leaned on the armrest on the couch, looking over her shoulder as she read. “I got you something while I was out.”
"Aww, you didn't have to do that." She glanced up at him with a smile.
Sterling smiled back and leaned down to kiss her quickly. “No. But I wanted to. Here, open it,” he said, handing her the small, white plastic bag.
"Is it bad that I'm nervous?" She chuckled, looking in the bag.
“I mean, with what we’ve been doing, I don’t think so, but trust me, it’s not bad,” Sterling said as he watched her open it.
Inside was a bookmark with a black cat on it. It looked almost exactly like Nyx, and when he saw it, he knew he had to get it for Cass.
"Aww! Sterling you shouldn't have! I love it!" She kissed his cheek sweetly.
Sterling chuckled and kissed her cheek back. “I saw it and knew I had to get it for you. I’m glad you like it.”
