She could hear keys jingle in the lock of her door. "I don't know, someone down the hall said they could hear screams." Mark's muffled voice explained. "Screams? What, was someone dying?" She could hear the familiar chuckle of Macy. "No, they weren't scared of someone in pain they were more… pleasurable." "Like someone having sex?" "Exactly."
Sterling groaned and pulled away. “I can hear your friends… Did you know they were coming?”
"I heard that Jake got food poisoning so him and Macy got sent home and like I said, Mark comes to check on the cats when I'm gone. It probably hasn't gotten around yet that we're gone."
“Then we should probably put some clothes on, huh?” Sterling sighed, reluctantly pulling away from her.
"Yeah, before they walk in here." She chuckled. "Yo Karma! You home?" Mark called. "In my room! Don't come in!" She yelled back, giggling when she heard them jump.
Sterling chuckled a bit and kissed her quickly before sitting up. He glanced around for his clothes, pulling them on when he found them.
She dressed quickly and peeked out into the hall, seeing the shocked looks on her friends' faces. "What are you doing home?" "Sprained my ankle." "Why didn't you text me?" "Didn't have the chance."
Sterling sighed and stepped up behind her, running hand through his already-messy hair. “Hey, guys… Heard you got sick, man. Feelin’ any better?”
She chuckled softly. "No, no, no, babe that was Jake. This is Mark." "Who is that?!" "Oh! Mark, this is Sterling, my boyfriend and partner from the competition. Sterling, this is Mark."
“Oh. Sorry… Nice to meet you,” Sterling, smiling a bit and nodding his head.
"How long have you known this guy?" "Like two days." "And you're already dating him?" "Hey, Alexander and Eliza got married three weeks after they met." "Don't distract me with Hamilton."
Sterling chuckled a bit and wrapped an arm around her waist from behind, resting his chin on her head.
"When the girls find out about this you are going to be slaughtered." "That's not true." "Jealousy does things to people, Karma."
“I’m sure she’ll be fine… I have no intentions of letting my girlfriend get hurt.”
"I'm not saying you'd let them hurt her." He put his hands up in defense. "I'm just saying they'll try their best to get rid of her."
Sterling smiled a bit. “I know. But they’d have to try pretty hard to get past me,” he chuckled.
"Notes, cyberbulling, isolation, everything that makes it look like it's fine but it isn't. Girls can be cruel." Macy shook her head.
Sterling’s smile dropped. “Right, of course…”
"Keep your fangirls I'm check otherwise they'll try their damnest to give your girlfriend a mental breakdown and scare her away from you."
“I will definitely try my hardest.”
"Good, good." Mark nodded in approval.
Sterling smiled a bit, nodding. “Yeah…”
"Alright, now I have to ask for the sake of science, were you two having sex earlier?" "Mark!!" "It's for science!"
“Oh, well, if it’s for science… We have to answer for science, babe,” Sterling chuckled, wrapping his other arm around her.
"Not to mention there were a bunch of people down at the front desk saying they heard female screams coming from down this hall and I was just wondering."
Sterling’s eyes widened slightly, and he moved to look at Cass with an amused expression. “Wow, babe… You’ve got good lungs, huh?”
"They were down there complaining cause they live down the hall." He chuckled.
Sterling clicked his tongue. “Well… I guess we’re not getting away from that, then. To answer your question, yes we were.”
"I knew it!!" He cheered. "Yes!!"
Sterling chuckled and kissed the side of Cassandra’s head. “It’s not a big deal.”
