Eden’s POV:
I hummed in agreement.
“Catch you after school,” I repeated.

(Skip to the end of the day?)
(Do you wanna plan out something in PM?)
(I had a bit of a plan, but I'll tell you there if you want.)
(Yup!)
(;D)
(Skip: A few days before prom night.)
Sterling's POV:
I chewed on the inside of my cheek as I waited for Eden in my car outside of her house. I don't think I've been this nervous about something since… Well, since ever, actually.
Tonight was the night. I had a nice dinner planned for us, and then I was going to take her to the park. I'd managed to get Lucas and Ashley to come with to take pictures, and Lucas was supposed to bring the sign I'd made.
Yeah, I made a sign. This was a promposal, after all. Though I hoped that Eden had no idea what was coming. All I needed to do was remain calm enough that she wouldn't get suspicious.
Eden’s POV:
I wasn’t sure why Sterling wanted to meet up with me, but I wasn’t about to complain. Unfortunately, it just meant I had to postpone watching a variety show.
I walked out of my house, finding Sterling leaning against his car. From his posture, he looked nervous. I raised an eyebrow, but didn’t think much of it.
“Hello, there,” I greeted with a smile. “What a nice surprise.”
Sterling's POV:
My nervousness all but vanished at the sight of her. She would say 'yes'. I knew she would.
I grinned and leaned down to quickly peck her on the lips. "'Hello there' yourself. Are you ready to go?"
Eden’s POV:
“Go where?” I raised an eyebrow, fighting off the smile, pretending his little action didn’t bother me. “You still haven’t told me where we’re going.”
Sterling's POV:
"Out to dinner," I replied with a cheeky grin as I took her hand and pulled her to the passenger side of the car. "Now hurry up and get it. We have a reservation to meet."
That was only partially true, actually. There wasn't one at the restaurant, but I had given Lucas and Ashley a time that we would be at the park. I didn't want to make them wait.
Eden’s POV:
I let Sterling push me into his car, chuckling quietly to myself. It was nice to see him excited like this. I couldn’t wait to see the surprise he most definitely had for me.
“And how long do we have?”
Sterling's POV:
I winked at her as I shut her door, then made my way back to my seat. After sitting down and closing the door behind myself, I started the car. That's for me to know and you to find out."
Eden’s POV:
I simply rolled my eyes and enabled Bluetooth for the car. I took out my phone and scrolled through my music, tapping on This Is Gospel by Panic! At The Disco.
“I don’t really know much about you,” I said, looking at Sterling curiously. “We don’t know much about each other.”
Sterling's POV:
I hummed a bit. She was right, actually… We really didn't know that much about each other.
"Well, what do you want to know? We could play 20 Questions or something like that," I suggested with a shrug.
Eden’s POV:
“Okay,” I agreed. “You ask first.”
Sterling's POV:
"What's your favorite color?" I asked, glancing over at her.
Eden’s POV:
“Grey,” I answered. “What type of music do you like?”
Sterling's POV:
"Mine is dark blue," I said before thinking about her question for a moment. With a small smile, I rubbed at the back of my neck. "I like country and pop… What is your favorite food?"
Eden’s POV:
“Chicken burger,” I answered. I loved eating chicken burgers, especially if they were topped with fries and orange juice. “For music… I don’t have a preference. Your favorite animal?”
Sterling's POV:
"Oh, mine is a cheeseburger. That's kinda funny," I chuckled. Chewing on my lip, I debated telling her what my actual favorite animal was or just telling her what I told everyone else. Well, she trusted me with her secrets, so I suppose I should trust her with mine, huh? "Um… It's a red panda…"
Eden’s POV:
I bit my lip to contain the laughter that wanted to spill. He likes red pandas? That was adorable beyond words. Sterling gave off this cool aura, and him having a fluffy and adorable animal was surprising.
Then again, I wasn’t any different.
“I like hamsters,” I admitted, cracking my knuckles. “How much longer, Sterling?”
Sterling’s POV:
Hamsters, eh? Cute.
“About five minutes, I think. We’re almost there,” I answered, smiling over at her quickly. “Okay. Favorite number?”
Eden’s POV:
I thought for a moment before shrugging.
“I don’t have one,” I answered. What was the point of having a favorite number? That was one thing I didn’t understand. “What about you?”
Sterling’s POV:
“Hm… 18, I think. The number of freedom,” I joked with a chuckle.
Eden’s POV:
I nodded, a thoughtful look on my face.
“So Steve Rodger’s favorite number,”
Sterling’s POV:
I glanced at her with a slightly confused expression. “Sure? I guess…”
Eden’s POV:
I stared at Sterling’s eyes wide.
“Steve Rodgers,” I repeated. “Captain America. Please tell me you’ve watched the Avengers.”
Sterling’s POV:
I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “Of course I have. I know who Steve Rogers is. How do you know that’s his favorite number, though?”
Eden’s POV:
“That’s simple,” I responded, leaning back on my seat. “It’s the number of freedom.”
