He looked down at his hands and shook his head "I don't know, not in a family way but just as strong as that love."

She looked thoughtful for a moment. She was about to say something, but the light turned and it was lost in her mind.

He looked sidelong at her profile "I'm sorry for putting you in danger, Natalie. And….for this morning."

"Why are you sorry about this morning? You didn't know they had that footage and neither did I," she said simply. "There's nothing either one of us could've done to stop it before the broadcast. And… you're not the one that put me in danger… It's I that should be apologizing for that."

"True, but I should have thought ahead, should have known that there were going to be cameras at such a fancy get-together. And as for just a few moments ago, yes that is my fault. Demitri was after me and my company, if I would have just handed it over, I could have avoided getting you or Adrien hurt….or worse."

"How many times do I have to tell you?" Nathalie asked. "Don't give away your entire life's work for me."

"I'm going to anyways, you can't change my mind."

"What if I could?"

"you can try" he glanced at her challengingly

Nathalie released a breath and pressed her lips together. She was thinking.

"not easy is it?"

She glanced over at him. "I'll come up with something."

"I dought it, but ok." He said with a confident smile and a shrug

Nathalie cleared the security sensor and pulled into the Agreste drive. She unbuckled, got out, and was quickly over by Gabriel's side. "Do you need any help walking?" she asked, eyeing him to see if he was lying.

He shook his head, "No, no I'm fine," he stood, slightly swaying but seeming fine to walk

Nevertheless, Nathalie put her arm under his shoulders and assisted him. "If I promise not to lie to you, please promise that you won't lie to me," she muttered.

He smiled "I'm not lying, i can walk" he accepted her help anyways

"Can you walk without struggling?" she retorted.

" yes…i think." he said trying to stand without her help

Nathalie took a step back to skeptically watch him.

He walked a few steps then stubbled catching himself on the railing "ok maybe not"

She quickly looped her arm around him and helped him stand upright. She opened the doors and guided him into the study and to his desk.

"thank you" he murmured "you need to rest too, take the night off, or at least until Adrien gets back."

She checked the time. "Adrien will need to be picked up in approximately one hour. Is there anything that you need me to do in the meantime, si–" She gritted her teeth. "Gabriel."

He looked at her for a moment longer and shook his head "rest love," he said simply

"I don't need any rest, Gabriel, I'm fine," she insisted. "Is there anything you need me to do? Anything in advance for tomorrow?"

He shook his head once more "no, no everything is fine for tomorrow…..shoot we have a gala or something don't we?"
