"Are you still good to come with me to check out the cabin?" Sterling asked, glancing at Jake before turning his gaze back to her.

She regained her breath and nodded. "Yeah, I'm good."

"Piggyback again sound good?"

"Wait what?? What kinky shit were you two up to last night?" "Jake!! I told you, I sprained my ankle so I can't walk. He's just carrying me around." "Ohhhh, right."

Sterling snorted and rolled his eyes, though he was smiling a bit. "Anyway… Yay or nay?"

"Mmm, surprise me." "Oh the amount of times I've heard her say that sentence." "I'm not good at decisions!"

Sterling chuckled and picked her up, the shifted her to his back. "This seems like a much safer option than the last."

"Yeah, definitely!" She giggled. "What, when you had her literally thrown over your shoulder? Yeah."

"Hey, I didn't hear her arguing about it," Sterling said, refusing to look at the other guy. Gosh, why did he have to be so difficult?

"Woah, no need to get defensive." He threw his hands up. "Not like your her boyfriend."

Steypaused for a moment, taking a quick breath before he just started toward the "haunted" cabin silently. Maybe he should ask her to be his girlfriend… They would get a lot fewer questions that way. All he needed to do was work up the courage to ask. Easy peasy…

She relaxed slowly, humming a small tune to herself.

When they reached the cabin, Sterling stopped at the steps of it. He carefully set Cassie down and moved so they were facing each other. "You ready?"

"As I'll ever be." She smiled a little.

"Good," Sterling said with a quick nod. He paused for a moment, chewing on his lip a bit. "And, actually… There's something I'd like to ask you…"

"Hmm? What is it?" She tilted her head slightly in curiousity.

Steeling cleared his throat a bit before he smiled tentatively. "I was wondering if, when this week is over and we go back to school, you'd like to go on a date? And maybe… be my girlfriend…?"

She blushed bright red but smiled brightly. "Of course! That's my answer for both, if you were wondering."

"Perfect!" Sterling exclaimed with a light laugh before he bent down to capture her lips in a quick kiss. "Perfect."

"Now, let's win this thing cause food is better than people!"

"Very true!" Sterling laughed as he lifted her up again and swung her so she was riding piggyback again.

She laid her head on his shoulder so she could see everything. "Let's go, my noble steed!"

Sterling chuckled as he made his way up the steps. He stopped at the door for a moment before he pushed it open carefully.

"Ooo, that looks like a horror movie set."

"Hm, yeah. It does kinda, doesn't it?" Sterling mused as he nodded slowly. "At least we don't get split up. That's never a good idea."
