Alison blinked and glanced at the shirt before looking back at M. "Would you prefer a long-sleeve?"
Alison blinked and glanced at the shirt before looking back at M. "Would you prefer a long-sleeve?"
M curled up in the sheets and poked his head out when she spoke.
βYeah, but I donβt have any more. They donβt fit.β
"Did you grow out of them? When did that happen?" Alison asked, furrowing her eyebrows in confusion. "Maybe I'll go buy you some more laterβ¦"
M nodded. βI canβt fit my hands in them any more. And they go past my wrists. Itβs not fun.β He frowned deeply.
"Hm⦠We could go get you some shirts that are tailored to fit you if you'd like," Alison suggested, chewing on her lip in thought. "Will this shirt work for now, though?"
M frowned at it. βI donβt even know why I have that. But okay, I guess. I donβt want to get ink everywhereβ¦β
Alison gave him a small smile and handed him the shirt before she climbed into the bed and laid down beside him. "It should be fine, right?"
M unbuttoned the dressshirt and plopped it down on the ground before fitting on the t-shirt. He curled up into the bed with his arms down on the mattress. It looked very uncomfortable.
βItβll be fine,β He said finally.
Alison sighed and rolled to face him, giving him a small smile. "Do you want to cuddle a bit before we sleep?"
M looked at her, his cheek pressed against the bed. βCuddling sounds nice.β He shifted around, keeping his arms to the bed as he lay on his side.
"That involves moving your arms, dear," Alison chuckled, moving closer to him.
Graci smiled charmingly and rose the cup in return. βSuch bold statement. I love it.β She took a drag of the drink.
"I'm nothing if not bold." Jericho said to her with a slight smirk.
M shifted around a bit before uncrossing his arms. βHere.β
βYou are not not bold, my good man.β She laughed softly, setting down her second cup.
Alison smiled and curled into him. "Hm, you're warmβ¦"
M curled their legs together with a soft sigh. He curled his arms up into the sheets, hoping she wouldnβt notice the new wounds on them.
He couldnβt help it, of course.
Just from cases.
Thinking about what happened yesterday made him feel prickly and wrong. Is that why he was so on edge and dull-witted?
Alison glanced up at him. She still felt like something was off with him, but she didn't want to press him about it. He would tell her on his own time if he wanted to. And she could wait.
M glanced at her. It didnβt feel right to lie to her. What if she got mad? He couldnβt bring himself to tell her! What if she got mad? He shook himself a little. He needed to just calm down. If she noticed, and asked, heβd tell her.
"Are you truly sure that you are all right?" Alison asked gently, reaching up to cup his cheek.
M glanced at her. His eyes glistened unsurely in the light.
βYeahβ¦ Iβm fine. Tired.β
Alison nodded slowly, not fully convinced, and rubbed circles onto his skin. "All right. Let's sleep, thenβ¦"
M rested his head back down on the pillow, sighing. Sheβd notice eventually. He had taken quite a tumble. And there was a fight. He got shot, too, but that was a bandage on his hip now.
Alison moved her hand to his arm, rubbing it gently. It slipped lower down, and she felt his wounds before she looked down at them, her eyebrow furrowed. "Metaphorical⦠What happened?" she whispered.
M felt her cold fingers trace his upper arm, then over his bruises and scabs.
βIβ¦ It was just an accident. Iβm fine.β
Alison ran her hand over his arm gently, frowning as she looked at it. She chewed on her lip and glanced back up at her husband. "What happened, M?"
M swallowed nervously, shifting around on the bed. Even though the bullet wound was on his other hip, it hurt. Maybe it was because he was thinking and worrying about it.
βIt was justβ¦ aβ¦ case. I underestimated them.β
"And you got hurt⦠Where else?" Alison asked, looking him over worriedly.
M chewed on his lip. βEverywhere. Theyβ¦ they cornered me and attacked me.β
"Oh, honeyβ¦" Alison sighed closing her eyes. When she opened them, her gaze was soft and still worried. "You're okay now, though, right?"
M ducked his head slightly with a faint sigh. βYeah. Just a little shaken up.β He never thought someone would manage to push him in such a situation and make him feel useless like they did.
Alison nodded slowly and lightly kissed his forehead. "Okay⦠If you want to talk about it at all, I'm always here for you."
