She looked back up to the beautiful blue sky.

“It actually is. The air is more fresh up there and you can see everything.”

“Athena, Zeus, Hephaestus, Dionysus, Hecate, Hermès, Hypnos, and Tyche on one team. Aphrodite, Demeter, Ares, Apollo, Nemesis, Nike, Hebe, and Iris on the other,” Jude said, finally looking up.

Rikard was not a massive fan of capture the flag, and his spirits dropped even further when he realised that he wasn't on the same team as Jude and Kyna. "What cabin are you in Freyja?" he asked, hoping against hope that he might at least be on the same team as her.

“Aphrodite,” She said, grinning.

"Yes!" Rikard pumped his fist into the air. He looked at Freyja, then at Kyna and Jude. "You guys are going DOWN!"

"YOU CAN FLY!? OH my Gosh! That's awesome!!!!!"

“Good luck to us!” She laughed. Kyna rolled her eyes.
“We’re gonna win.”

Rikard grinned at Freyja as the conch horn rang for dinner and he stood up. He was about to take out his braid, but paused. He'd leave it in. They could laugh all they wanted.

Freyja stood next to the players. She was among the few in her cabin who looked excited to play.

Rikard stood next to Freyja. He wasn't exactly excited, since he was probably going to end up getting bashed like usual, but at least this time he had Freyja beside him.

Jayden was talking to a pine cone.

Tessa sighed. Another day, another game of capture the flag.

“Tessa,” Freyja muttered as she walked past. “Don’t mess up the game for us.”

Jude jogged over. “At least she plays.”

“What are you doing here?”

“My job is to keep you from being a b*tch. Bye!”

Feyja's words stung. But Tessa tried shaking it off.

Rikard stood around, entirely unsure what to do. He usually just kinda hung back. He saw that kid of Aelous talking to a pine cone and shook his head. Geez, some of the people in this camp were WEEIIIRD.

Jayden was talking to a pine cone.

The conch blew. The game has started.

Rikard decided to just follow Freyja. She was more likely to know what was going on than he was.

Tessa ran into the forest, climbing trees to give her cover as people fought beneath her.

Jayden hid in a tree, he didn’t want to play.
