He sighed slowly. "I live in the northern border of Virginia.." Not too far from where they were.

"Is this special guy from your hometown?"
"I don't know where he's from," he spoke. "He just showed up one day,"
Pierre nodded in understanding. "What does he look like?"
"Kinda like you,"
"How old, do you know? Around your age?"
"Little older," he replied.
"Do you know if he enlisted in the army?"
"Yep," Francis looked back, "He's a soldier,"
"I'll keep an eye out for him," Pierre promised the boy. "Maybe we can get you two together."
He laughed, went red. "Maybe.."
Peter entered back in, "Is he feeling better?"
"Yes, much," Francis replied.
Pierre nodded with a slight chuckle, ruffling the boy's hair. "Thanks, Peter. The commander won't find out?"
"No sir." The doctor smiled.
Pierre's shoulders sagged slightly in relief. "Thank you."
"Yessir." He dipped his head.
Francis hopped off the bed, then winced in regret. "Ohhhh, my legs,"
He chuckled, pushing Francis gently back onto the bed. "Take it slowly, kid. Rest for a little bit, 'kay?"
(the next time we skip, can it be a few days later so that Pierre can take Cruz's advice and send a letter to Edonine?)
Yeet)
(skip now or later?)
Now)
(wait, how would she read the letter?)
XD! Oh right oof )
Oh! He could come over with the letter and read it to her ❤)
(yass okay, give me one second)
Pierre's nerves had been piling up ever since he'd left camp with a (slightly crumpled) letter in hand. A little over two weeks had passed since he'd last seen Edonine, and though he'd sent her letters, he hadn't been sure whether or not she'd be able to have someone read them aloud to her– he hadn't been given leave until now.
The carriage came to a stop in front of a familiar house, and suddenly, Pierre's heart was practically pounding out of his chest in anticipation of the apple-eyed girl on the other side of the front door.
She was somewhere inside the small, flower clad home. Round-faced and sunkissed and freckled, waiting for him.
Pierre payed the driver and made for the door with anxiety uncurling low in his stomach. He stood there with his hand on the knocker for three full minutes, trying and failing to summon enough courage to knock, but eventually he figured that there was no point in waiting any longer. He knocked three times.
Delta started screaming excitedly behind the door.
Pierre flinched back, but a smile quickly spread across his face as he waited for the door to open.
(honestly Delta's probably my favourite character lmao)
XD! Feather boii )
Edonine opened the door. She smiled widely at him, nervous, and her hair… It.. It was cut.
(eyy)
(oml I think I see where this is going)
Pierre stared at her for three full seconds, stunned by both the fact that she was right there, in front of him, and that she'd cut her hair. But the shock wore off, and he stepped over the threshold into her house to envelope her in a hug.
