"I figured you couldn't," Dak sighed again staring up at the clear sky, "It's beautiful out here."
"I figured you couldn't," Dak sighed again staring up at the clear sky, "It's beautiful out here."
Colton looked up and shielded his eyes form the sun with his hand, “I prefer the night and the stars.”
Dak looked at him and said with a shine in his eyes, "Stars? Are they the little things that twinkle in the dark?"
Colton nodded, “Yeah, they are. Beautiful things. We’ll go star gazing later on so you can see them.”
Dak smiled, "That would be awesome! Thanks Colton."
Colton smiled back, “Ehe, no problem. Anything for a friend.”
Dak beamed before Chrysi announced, "We're here!"
The base was made up of a couple small sheet metal buildings along with some extra off on the side. Each one had a different colored blanket for each unique person with an actual door for the main headquarters of it all. She started walking over to the sheet metal, "Someone help me set up too huts for the boys and Zhira."
“Yo, Chrysi, whatcha need me and Dak to do?” Colton asked, walking over to her.
Dak was right behind him staying silent. Chrysi pushed a piece of sheet metal their way. "I need someone to get wood to prop this up on, ropes, and just get four pieces of sheet metal to use. Then we can find a blanket for you guys."
“Alrighty. Come on Dak, lef’s go find what we need. Be back in a few ticks!” Colton said, doing just as he said.
Dak followed after Colton like a child and his parent. Chrysi shook her head and kept moving sheet metal.
After a while, Colton spotted the metal, “Dak, can you get two pieces of the metal and I’ll get the other two?”
Dan nodded and grabbed two sheets of metal, pulling them with his twiggy arms.
Colton watched him for a moment before grabbed another two sheets. He let out a small grunt before beginning to take them back to Chrysi.
Chrysi watched as they brought back the metal. Colton seemed to be doing just fine, while Dan was having some difficulties. She sighed and went to help them. She nodded her head a little to the south of the other huts, "We'll set them up over here."
(Is it wrong that I ship Dak and Colton?)
(Nah, I do too in all honesty)
Colton nodded. The metal was starting to feel a little heavier then normal because he was becoming tired but he didn’t say anything and did as instructed.
(Well fun fact, Dak be aroace. So yeah. That’s a thing….. that might change cause I like them together too.)
Chrysi helped the boys to where the hut was going to be set up. Already there was a pile of wooden pillars for support and some string to tie it all together. She wiped her hands off and looked at them, “First task for you two, make a hut for yourselves. You can ask for help, but you’ll be the one actually doing it.”
Colton nodded, giving Dak a small grin, “Gotcha boss, I’m sure we can manage but we’ll be sure to find you or someone if we need.”
Dak nodded along smiling. Chrysi looked at them and nodded, "Okay, good look you two!"
Dak looked to Colton and then to the material supplies, "So how do we do this?"
Colton frowned a little and knelt down, “We need to get the walls made. The metal can be used for that and the wood will help prop it up.”
Dak knelt down and grabbed one of the longer wood pillars, "So I hold this while you prop the metal against it?"
Colton nodded, “We can try that, yeah.” He grabbed one piece of metal with a small grunt, lifting it up carefully.
Dak stood and held the pole waiting to see how this would work. He was ready to brace against the pole to stop it from slipping.
Colton pushed the metal up against the wood and held it still, “Is there any rope or something to keep it together?”
Dak used his body weight as he pushed against the wood, “Umm, I see some!”
Dak leaned over and reached for the cord like thing.
Colton felt himself slip a little but he regained his grip, “Alright, great, we need to tie the wood to the metal then the group somehow.”
Dak grabbed the cord and looked for something to string the cord through, “If there was a hole then maybe we could thread it through there. Can you make holes in metal?”
Colton shook his head, “Nah, I cant. But maybe you can,” He grinned a little, “Maybe you could blast trough the metal with fire or something.”
