Tony blinked, then hugged her back, gently rubbing her back, "Hey, hey, what happened, baby?" He whispered, kissing her head, he felt a smart quip coming to his mind, but forcing it down
"I did exactly what you told me not to do." Morgan mumbled into his skin, ready for him to get mad. She wondered if he would want to hear about her bizarre feelings regarding Thomas, but decided against it for now.
Owen turned around and saw Chesh in his doorway. He smiled slightly at her.
"Hey. Are you OK?" Chesh said almost in a Steve like way. He had done this to her a lot when she had felt sad.
Tony sighed, but he didn't get mad, "It's understandable, Mor" he said, "All the more reason for us to finish your suit, huh?" He smiled, caressing her face. His eyes softened, "But that's not all that happened, huh?"
Owen nodded slightly. sure he was ok, now. but he wasn't good, great, or splendid. Just fine, ok, and alright.
Chesh frowned. "I'm not meaning to be rude but are you mute?" Chesh said rubbing the back of her neck.
Owen thought about it for a moment. then nodded. he was mute, in a way. he was psychologically mute, not physically though. He had a voice but he just couldn't use it.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't know!" She said covering her face with her hands.
Morgan huffed. "The suit isn't going to help, Dad. Unless you've figured out how to make it siphon off all the excess" she gestured vaguely to her body frustrated, "–this."
She pulled out of his hug, debating. How would he react to Thomas? He pretty much thought he was a sassy punk kind that was the perfect combination of Nat and Clint. It had been years since they had the talk and how it was a little different since Morgan could literally blow up a city block if her more romantic escapades got…heated. She blushed and looked away. She couldn't even kiss Thomas. That is, if she wanted to. Which she didn't.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't know!" She said covering her face with her hands.
He nodded, smiling a bit. it was funny how embarrassed she was about this.
"I won't do it again. I promise. I'm sorry." She said hugging Owen.
He stopped for a second surprised by the hug then he hugged her back.
Chesh let go of him. "S-should we go find Morgan or-?" She said rubbing the back of her neck.
He thought about it then shook his head no. She could have been talking to her dad right now. Or other stuff….
Chesh looked slightly surprised. "Wait. Mr Stark might be over?" She asked.
He nodded. As a response.
("…or other stuff." LOOOOOOL XD Nice)
Tony sighed, "I'm working on that, I'm this close" he said before leading her to the small couch, "Now there is something else going on and if you don't tell me, it's my duty to assume the worst and say you're doing drugs or something" hr said, all in one breath, "Soooo…. what's up?" He smiled and laid dramatically over the couch, draping himself over her and smiling as he looked up at her
Jasper sighed and grabbed the abandoned chips on the couch. "What to do what to do…, Nothing….fun"
Morgan huffed out a sigh and plopped down on the couch next to her father. She stared at her hands, then his. It was so odd how similar they were. She was almost an exact copy of him, except someone forgot to give her the Y chromosome. "I'm not doing drugs, Dad." She muttered, wishing that they actually worked on her. She would love to know what it would be like to escape herself one day.
She looked up at him again, lip wobbling a little bit. "It's….Thomas."
Tony raised an eyebrow, "Tommy boy? What about him?" He asked, curious and a bit suspicious
Morgan blushed, wringing her bare hands. "I–I don't know…I think. Maybe. I like him?" She suddenly looked much younger than 21, her brown eyes wide and childlike, compared to their usual confidence and swagger.
(From today at 3:10 to December 31 I will not be on Notebook.ia. I'm going to Colorado and I won't be on at all unless I can figure out how to get it on my phone and even if that happens I will be on very limited. I'm sorry. Merry Christmas and Happy holidays everyone!)
Tony was quiet for a moment. He sat up, stroking his beard. One side of his brain screamed for him to forbid this, how dare someone be good enough for her! The other side told him that Thomas was trustworthy, good for Morgan. After a long silence, he sighed, "It's understandable why you would," he admitted, "He's a good man," there was silence for another moment, "Have you told him?" Tony looked over
Morgan's mouth dropped open. She couldn't believe he had said that about anyone but the original avengers and Uncle Rhodey. But she stared at him, eyes welling with tears, but her voice coming out a angry scream. "How could I!? I can't touch him, Dad! I can't be physical with him! I'll blow up fricken New York!" She gasped in another breath. She was finally showing what was breaking her heart. "I can't touch anyone like me! The more powers I absorb the more unstable I get! How, Daddy? How am I supposed to live like this?"
Tony blinked, then drew her into a hug, "Hey, hey" he whispered, "Shhhh, hey" he rubbed her back. Tony bit his lip, then stood, "FRIDAY, bring out prototype z please" he said quietly.
//certainly, sir//
A small section of the floor opened and a small glass case rose up. Inside was a necklace with a small blue jewel. He opened the case and took it out, "Ive been working on this for awhile" he admitted, "It's certainly not a permanent solution, but it might help for awhile" he gently undid the clasp and put it around her neck, "When you feel yourself starting to get overwhelmed, or overpowered, the jewel will absorb most of it, then you can use the stored Power later"
That makes no sense but thus is fiction so whatever//
Morgan's eyes widened as the stone settled against her chest. Her hand fluttering up to hold it against her skin. It pulsed like a heart for a moment before it went ice cold against her skin and she swayed, feeling it drain a portion of her strength. It glowed merrily, lighting up both her's and Tony's faces before going dark.
She cleared her throat, wiping the tears from her face. "D-Does it nullify my absorption power?" her voice quiet like she didn't want to get her hopes up. It was a gift she could never thank him for, not fully, but it offered a flash of bright hope.
Tony smiled and nodded, "It does" he confirmed quietly, "It'll absorb the power instead of you and dissipate it slowly over time"
Morgan stared at him. No way. She barreled into his chest hugging him perhaps a bit too tight with her super strength. "Thank you, Daddy." She whispered, sounding like she did when she was a child. She didn't give him a chance to respond as she vanished from the room, her speed too fast for him to see. Morgan didn't notice that she left her gloves behind on her work station. She had to find Thomas.
