"Ah, they're not home." They never are. "But yeah, um, you're welcome." Willow closed the car door, and waited for Sterling.

“I suppose I will take you up on your offer for those snacks, then,” Sterling chuckled as his stomach grumbled. He stepped out of the car, stuffing his keys in his pocket, and followed Willow.

"Great! Follow me!" Willow led him up to her house and opened the door. "Make yourself at home!"

“You have a nice house,” Sterling said as he stepped inside, his hands shoved into his front pockets.

"Thanks," Willow walked into the kitchen, and started to look through the cabinets for snacks. Cheez-its, Pingles, Animal Crackers… She placed them on her counter, and began looking for sandwich materials. "What do you prefer?"

Sterling followed after her and looked over what she had taken out. “I’ll take some animal crackers. I can’t remember the last time I had those,” he chuckled.

"Since you were a kid, I'm guessing?" Willow grinned. "I'll take the Cheez-it's, then," She grabbed the boxes and gave the animal crackers to Sterling, and headed towards the couch.

"That's probably true," Sterling chuckled, taking the animal crackers and following Willow over. "It has definitely been a while."

Willow sat down, and patted the seat besides her. "Here have a seat," She stuck a hand in the box, and pulled out a handful of Cheez-its, sticking her tongue out as she did so.

Sterling smiled at the face she made as he sat beside her. She was pretty cute, he had to admit. Especially when made a goofy face like that.

Willow caught him looking at her, and she blushed, quickly swallowing the big mouthful of food. "Sorry, that wasn't very hostess-ness of me," she said sheepishly, dusting off her shirt.

“No, don’t worry about it,” Sterling chuckled. “It was cute.”

"It-It was?" Willow said, flustered. She wasn't used these type of comments from, well, anyone.

“Yeah, it was. And so is that blush that just appeared on your cheeks,” Sterling said, grinning at her.

The blush deepened, and Willow's mouth opened, then closed, then opened again. This repeated for a solid minute before she could actually respond. "I, I don't know what to say to that," Willow willed the blush to go away, but of course it stayed a prominent red on her cheeks.

Sterling chuckled and leaned back in his seat. “That’s okay. You don’t have to say anything.”

"I-" Willow debated saying anything at all, or just leaving it at that. "Okay." She picked up the remote and switched on the TV. "Do you wanna watch anything?" Her tone was awkward, and she mentally cursed herself for being so affected by a simple comment.

Sterling checked his watch before he shrugged. “Sure, I’ve got some time. What’s on?”

Willow peered at the TV. "Looks like a bunch of movies. "What do you prefer out of Deadpool, It, and The Last Jedi?" She turned to face Sterling.

"Hm… Probably The Last Jedi," Sterling said with a shrug. "I'm not too big on horror movies."

"Hmmm. me neither. Are you into the Star Wars series?" Willow asked while clicking on the movie. Luckily, it was still in the beginning, so they wouldn't miss much.

“I’ve seen a few of the movies,” Sterling said with a shrug. “I’m not, like, a hardcore fan or anything, but they’re good.”

"My grandpa and I used to watch them all the time," Willow said, eyes glazing over, wrapped up in memories of better times. "He used to collect the action figures and everything." She let out a hollow laugh. "That was before he died, of course."

Sterling looked over at her, empathy etched into his features. "I'm sorry… He sounds like he was a great guy."

Willow smiled wearily at him. "He was. He was the best man I ever knew." She lightly shook her head, trying to get rid of the memories. "Anyways, enough about my family. What about yours?"

Sterling shrugged and looked around the room. "I have a younger brother named Tobias. My dad is the owner of a large, very successful lawyer firm. My mom is his very successful trophy wife, and his first love. She sings, but she hasn't made an album yet, and I don't think she ever will."

"First love?" Willow questioned, trying to meet his gaze. She got the vibe that he didn't really connect to his family, or something of the sorts.

"His first girlfriend. They were high school sweethearts. Then they went to different colleges and didn't see each other until a mutual friend's wedding, where they decided to keep in touch. A year later, they were married and had a kid on the way," Sterling explained, glancing over at her with a small smile.

"Ah," Willow nodded, understanding. "Well, it sounds like a romantic story/ My parents weren't the same." She laughed a little, remembering their first encounter.

"How did they meet?" Sterling asked, leaning back in his seat as he munched on some animal crackers.
