By the end of the video, Sterling was hardly able to control his laughter. He had a fist pressed against his mouth to keep from laughing too loudly and interrupting the rest of the students.

She turned the video off and just smiled, biting her lip to hold back her own laughter. "I told you it was great."

“That was hilarious,” Sterling managed to choke out a bit later, his laughter more under control.

She felt a sharp smack in the back of her head, turning to see a now very real and very angry Macy with Jake by her side, suppressing his own laughter. "I thought I told you to stop showing that!" She hissed. "But Mace! It's funny!" "No it isn't!" "You're right. It's hilarious." "Cass!"

Sterling watched this whole exchange in amusement. It glittered in his eyes as he smirked at the friends.

"Jake, help me out here!" Macy poked her boyfriend in the ribs but he simply threw his hands up in defense. "Sorry babe but she's right. It's really funny." "See! Thanks Jake!" "Not a problem Ares." He winked at her with a smile. Cass rolled her eyes with a slight smile.

“How many nicknames do you have?” Sterling asked with a chuckle.

(Secretly wants Sterling to start getting jealous of Jake)
"Way too many! But Jake is the only one who calls me Ares." "A perfect name for the perfect girl." "Jake, you have a girlfriend right there." "Just because I do means I can't think another girl is pretty?" "Jake. Right. Here." "Apparently not." He kissed Macy's cheek. "Love you Mace." "Yeah yeah, whatever." Macy paused for a second. "Love you too." She mumbled quietly.

(Lol. I mean, I could do that…)

Sterling raised his eyebrows at the interaction. It certainly seemed like Jake enjoyed teasing Cassie, but he had a girlfriend…

So why did Sterling have a sinking feeling in his chest when he watched them?

"Alright, get out of here, ya flirt." "Make me Ares." He challenged with a smirk. "Oh ho ho, you don't want this problem and you know that Jake." "Maybe I do." "Is that a challenge?" "Only if you accept." "I'm walking away now! He's your issue, not mine!" Macy backed away to their table, leaving her boyfriend and best friend to battle it out. He stepped closer until they were only a couple inches away. He was taller than Cassie but that didn't faze her. "Bring it, pretty boy." "Oh Ares, you just asked for it."

He had a girlfriend, and he was still acting this way towards her? I mean, I could understand it if he was single, but really? And he did it in front of his girlfriend, too.

“All right, I think they’re about to start soon, so I would suggest taking your seat,” Sterling said, the epitome of calm… Or so he thought. There was a hint of an annoyed, jealous glimmer in his eyes as he looked between the two.

Jake glanced at Sterling and then back to Cassie. "We'll finish this later, mooie." He took her hand and pressed a gentle kiss to it before finally heading back to his seat next to Macy, who just sat there with an amused smile. Cass looked at Sterling, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips. Jake had taken Dutch when most everyone else took Spanish or French or something along those lines.

Sterling watched him walk away before turning to face Cassandra again. He raised an eyebrow at her questioningly, seeing her smile.

"Yeah. He's always like this." She shrugged. "He likes calling people different things in Dutch, his favorite for me being 'beautiful'. I never understood why."

“Maybe because you are beautiful? And I’m not the only one who thinks so?” Sterling suggested. And maybe because he likes you…

"Mhm. Yeah. Sure. Right." She rolled her eyes with a smile. "And don't think I didn't see that jealousy flash through your eyes."

“The what? What jealousy?” Sterling asked, feigning obliviousness as he cocked his head to the side.

She raised an eyebrow at him with an amused smirk. "Don't play dumb, you know exactly what I'm talking about."

Sterling blinked at her, his expression blank. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

"Come on love, you don't have to pretend." She chuckled.

Sterling smiled at her sheepishly. “He has a girlfriend. I’m just questioning why he’s hitting on you. And with her standing right next to him, no less.”

"He flirts with everyone. That's just his thing. Macy's used to it. People don't flirt with me like…ever so I find it quite sweet."

“Hm…” Sterling hummed, seeming unconvinced as he nodded. Why did he still feel like something was off?

"He actually kissed me once. And I swear, I can't forget it even if I wanted to!"

“Oh, he did?” Sterling asked, his gaze flicking back to the other guy.

"Yep. When was it, last week? I swear, it was like an attack."

“He kissed you last week? And his girlfriend is okay with this?” Sterling asked, still glaring over at Jake.

"Oh, she doesn't know. At least I don't think." She shrugged. "He's a bit of a constant flirt. And that boy band smile makes every girl fall over themselves trying to get him."

“Don’t you think it would be a good idea to tell your friend that her boyfriend kissed you?” Sterling asked, looking back at Cassie.

"I would, but she wouldn't believe me. She likes to ignore the fact that he's a flirt. Besides, he's kinda cute." She looked over at Jake, who winked at her with a grin.
