Okay so this is going to be a rant because so many people get this wrong (even English teachers) and it pisses me off.
PLOT IS NOT WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR NOVEL!!! Plot refers to the order in which things happen in your novel, story is what happens in your novel. Plot is essentially your novel's timeline, think of it the way you would in mathematics. PLOT AND STORY ARE NOT SYNONYMS!!!
