Aaarg, I need help because My two love interests live in a medieval world amd I don’t want their love to Ben that simple, ex. The guy meets the girl and realizes he loves her and she’s clueless until the end and blah blah bleh, I really need something Intricate!
Well, what are you thinking? What does he love about her? What is her personality? What is the plot of your story?
What are their social positions in this medieval society?
Depending on the rest of your plot they could be in an arranged marriage and, having never met one another and fearing what the other may be like, run away and meet each other on the road, not knowing that they are each other's betrothed, and, during the duration of the main plot, fall in love, only for their families to find them, take them back to their home to marry their betrothed and find that their betrothed is their lover.
Or one of them is of a lowly position in the castle and the other is royalty (or some high position) and after spending their childhood growing up together and loving each other somewhat platonically, the one in high society finds out they betrothed to some lord or someone far older then them that they absolutely hate, and both of the characters decide that they love each other romantically and elope to marry one another.
