forum I feel like my plot started good, but now it's going down hill. Any tips?

So my story is about a contract made between Demons and human which allowed Demons to posses human babies. But now I feel like like I'm going to fast and I need to fix up my plot to make a bit more sense.

Whenever that happens to me I restart from the beginning and pretend I haven't written anything else. Even if there are huge changes they're usually for the better. There needs to be room for corrections even if it changes the whole direction of the story. Make a protagonist into an antagonist, change relationships and storylines even the main plot if you need to. Rejig everything.

Yeah for me I hated writing the obligatory “protag finds out they have magic” set-up and so I dropped it entirely and made it so that my hero had known she was magical for a year, and everything has gone so much smoother since.

Tldr, maybe you can pinpoint something in the plot that doesn’t feel quite right and change it so that you’re happier, and maybe it’ll even fix some problems that you didn’t originally see

It sounds like you have a pretty decent idea of what you want to write. If you feel like the plot is going too fast, maybe it'd be best to take a break from focusing on the plot so much. Focusing on the technicalities of a story too much can actually kill its original spark if you aren't careful. Instead, I suggest writing short scenes from any point in the story. Things you imagine happening. It's very relaxing to write at your own pace and you may realize that you're getting somewhere. I find that this actually helps feed the spark of the idea and makes it much easier to design a suitable plot.
