Okay, so far I only have the overall, general idea that my story will be based on a set of teenage students going to a boarding school in Minnesota, and I have a FEW of my characters picked out of my Google Keep's collection of character refs.
It's in a real-world setting, so it'll be realistic.
Basically, I just need some more ideas on what to put in the plot to make it a bit more interesting throughout it.
I already think that I'm going to do something with my foster boy's background and current situation, considering they sent him off to a boarding school, and my extroverted animal-lover girl with her parent(s) traveling for work, but other than that, I'm not too sure what I'm gonna do.
Any suggestions would be helpful!
It depends on what genre route you want to go for. If you want to go for a romance you could decide on a stereotypical "they don't like each other at first but they fall in love" shtick or you could go more of a they fall in love but then go through challenges and either make it out strong as ever or drift apart along the way.
If you want to go horror there could be something that they are both a part of which ends up causing them harm, like a secret society or cult. Perhaps there's something wrong at the school like a murderer or a string of people going insane.
Obviously there are many routes you could take and picking a genre makes writing much easier. My expertise is definitely horror but I can give advice on most genres.
I'm going to be adding more characters soon, so I think once i do I'll put another post on here to see what you think then

I've finally got my next character. Now, I'm not completely done yet, and I'll be editing these characters forever, but I've got a general idea for one. Possibly a love interest for my guy.
Anyway, it's this dude that it kind of a huge dick to my other guy, Conrad, and he (-Tyler) and his friends keep getting into conflicts with him. Eventually, I'm gonna make them get into an altercation and things will happen that I don't wanna spoil before I'm even 100% they will happen.
If you want to know what they look like and stuff, my characters are public. :)
