@Masterkey

Is it a romance? Just had to ask. :P

Usually the best way to start a story is to do a "once upon a time" kind of set up (where the narrator jumps in, like you're telling something around a campfire or doing a bedtime story), OR a "character in action" start. It's kind of popular to start a book with an obscure character doing something random so that the dilemma is set up, like seeing the bad guy murder them or something, but I personally hate that. If you're gonna start with a character in action, start with your MAIN character. It's an opportunity to show who they are without TELLING who they are, if ya get me. And then readers won't be attached to someone who's gonna die right off the bat.

So if your story is about an employer or an employee, start it with one of them in the middle of work. Maybe talking to their friend during lunch break. Maybe taking a bathroom break. I dunno, have them DO something.

That's all I got. peace
