@Twitchy

Referring to stories, character arcs, characters, anything. What did you enjoy? And what do you wish you still could see today?

@Masterkey

In retrospect, most of my favorite books had a main character that used to be a bully and/or too headstrong and rude or whatever, but then would gain a friend and slowly start changing. I think it was because I was one of those people.

@Twitchy

I've been relying primarily to your posts and it just hit me that your profile pic is Toph Beifong, hell yes. Also, I also like those characters. It's also really confusing when you restart the book, movie or series cause (generally with sub characters such as Claus from vampire diaries) you hate the hell out of them, and then suddenly you feel for them.

@Masterkey

Toph is the best. XD

And ikr, it's really awesome to re-read those stories when you know all the character's stories. Then you can see why they did what they did.

@WriteOutofTime

My favorite stories were about imaginative, creative girls. Anne of Green Gables, Narnia, The Little Princess, etc. Anything about girls around my age with stars in their eyes and dreams in their heads.

I want to see more older women in stories. I like how the avatar tv series made Iroh.
Lots of movies and books make the elder really wise but weak and feable, while Iroh was really wise but strong as hell.
I don't want the whole, ah their strong minded so their racist or stubborn and stuck in their ways, cause thats not always true.
Old, white or grey haired women who have no clue what's going on, just like all the other characters, but know that freaking out wont help anyone. They don't feel weak and sit down, but they stay up and they are the ones who yell "run!". They don't sacrifice themselves because the young will live longer, they keep that in mind and know the young need time to stay young despite the situation. They respect their thoughts and opinions, but they make their own known too. Realistic characters. The old lady who jogs every morning before doing the garden is gonna have more muscles than the 20 odd year old office worker who works 11-8 every day.

@Masterkey

^ That was great. And I feel the same! Have you ever read Howl's Moving Castle? Because that book kinda has all that in there. And it's amazing.

@Twitchy

I watched the anime! Made my Mum watch it aswell last christmas haha. Great movie, love Calsifer, and that's pretty much what I want haha, gonna put that post into the 'Women' forum thingy I made in the plots section.

@Masterkey

Dude the book is even better. Well, the movie changed a lot about the plot, so I think you can shamelessly love both and consider them to be different from each other. But I like the book better. It's hilarious… Sophie's personality is better, I think. :P

@Masterkey

The Howl's Moving Castle book is PERFECT

… the Studio Ghibli movie is okay.

But my top five Studio Ghibli movies are: Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, Only Yesterday, Spirited Away, and My Neighbor Totoro. You?
