My best friend isn't allowed to listen to Vocaloids so I have no one to talk to about them and I'm starting to lose my mind here.

NO WAY I FREAKING LOVE ALL OF THOSE… Well, I haven't really heard Bacterial Contamination more than once (Soundcloud is weird) but Crystalline? Tokyo Teddy Bear? Echo? All the rest of those? YESSSSSSSSS- A bunch of other songs I like are Blue Star (The first Vocaloid song I ever heard, almost two years ago…), Piece Of Art, Tokio Funka, I=Fantasy, WAVE, Matryoshka, Secrets Of Wysteria (I kinda like creepy stuff), SILENCE, S.S (Technically Neko Kanochi is a UTAU but whatever), FROST, KANKAN DANCIN, Heath, Psycho (By Yanaga Miyuki feat. MAYU, Only mentioning that because it doesn't even have a spot on Vocaloid Wiki it's so underrated), Miss Wanna-Die, Into Starlight, The Path To Eternal Happiness-I Found It, Wing, Sand Planet, Star Lily Dance Performance, Pretty Little Dead Things (Also UTAU), and last but not least everything Circus-P/Circus-Perfection has ever written in his lifetime. (I know that's a pretty long list, I just opened my SoundCloud playlist and wrote down all my favorites… Only to realize they're all my favorites)

Soundcloud is so dumb. I can't find the original Rin and Len version of Childish War on there, (Which is one of the most popular Vocaloid songs) just 50,000 human or UTAU covers and a low-quality Nightcore version.

Well, my mom doesn't think that… I just remember the one time I showed her Fade (CircusP feat. Dex and Daina) and she went on this crazy long rant about how awful she thought it was, which kinda hurt because at the time that was my favorite song, some of the things she said were "How could anyone listen to this crap?" "The guy sounds like he's singing with his nose plugged" "Aren't these things supposed to have good voices?" "YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY'RE SAYING" "You can't just… sing this? There's no way possible- (Me: Actually, I sing this all the time -) Well there's no way to sing it and make it sound… Good? It's just not possible" (That hurt me the most because that was one of the few songs that I thought I sounded good singing) "Why does this song even exist" "Please just play something else, I can't take this much longer" …That song left a real bitter taste in her mouth and now she hates Vocaloid altogether, which is the main reason I've never shown her my SynthV covers despite them taking so long.

I'm sorry about that. I love the way Vocaloid sounds! I even wish I could sound like them! And there are some great Vocaloid songs.

There really are! I wish I could show my mom some other ones but after that, I'm worried she'll just forever be anti-Vocaloid/UTAU/SynthV/etc

It shouldn't really matter what she thinks. Don't let it get to you. I also love Vocaloid and there are many others out there who love it too. You be you!

I'm going to advertise for your Vocaloid deck if that's okay NutElla. It's on TinyCards called Vocaloid Characters and I really like it. I've already learned a thing or two! I recommend the website TinyCards if you don't have it, which is what one of the things I use to learn Japanese and now Vocaloid characters. It has flashcards about literally everything.
