forum What do you use to make music??

So I’m trying to get into creating songs, plus I would like to animate them and create a fictional band that “sings” the songs. But I have no idea where to start D:!
I have a pretty decent singing voice and I’m practicing often so I’m getting better, but I don’t know what to use to create the actual music part of it! I don’t play any instruments other than a piano but I can’t even play that that well.
Anyways, what I’m trying to get at here is what do all you music creators use to make and edit and record your music! Any suggestions are welcomed (though I would like free or cheap programs and ideas xD)

i have no idea personally, but i've heard a lot of people with a mac use bandcamp
idk about anything else though

Yeah I’ve heard of band camp but sadly I don’t have a Mac lol. I found a couple of programs a while ago that helped though!
