A few weeks later…
Troy was standing outside in the rain, sheltered under a tree. He had asked Maylynn not to follow him out; he was going to speak with one of the Reapers, and he didn't want her hurt or worse.

When Troy had told Maylynn to stay there she immediately knew something was off. He was going to do something that she didn't really feel right about. Though she had no right to barge into his business, she was oh so tempted to follow him. But she knew that probably wasn't the best course of action. So she stayed put, cuddled up in her blankets in her bed as the chilly crisp wind blew outside.

Troy took a deep breath, looking at the Reaper in front of him. "What do you mean?" He asked slowly.
"What i said, young one. You aren't listening. You want your job back? Get rid of the distraction. Get rid of the person who made you lose focus."
"But…what…" Troy frowned.

After a while, Maylynn started to doze off. She didn't get much sleep last night anyway.

"Get rid of the distraction." the Reaper repeated. "And you can become one of us again."
"No, wait, I…" Troy trailed off, frowning still. "Please explain what you mean."

After a while, she fell asleep. She looked like a little kid cuddled up in her blankets in a little ball as he slept.

Troy finished his discussion with the Reaper, and headed back, deep in thought. I don't want to…But if I don't… he frowned, hands in his pockets.

She wasnt in a very deep sleep when she woke up to a little thump on the wall. Probably an animal she figured. She sat up in her bed with the blankets still around her and her hair all crazy. "whens he gonna get back?" SHe says to herself as she yawned.

Troy opened the door and closed it quietly, still frowning in thought. He sat down on the couch, eyes fastened vacantly on the wall. I don't understand… he frowned again, raking a hand through his hair.

"Hey. What we're you up to?" She says standing up off of the bed and sitting beside him on the couch.

He jumped a little, turning to look at her. "Oh. Nothing…nothing important." He replied slowly, looking at her.

"I know that's not it. But if you don't want to tell me that's alright…." She says with a sigh. After knowing him for this long, she trusted him to not do anything bad.

Troy sighed heavily, running a hand through his hair. "Sorry." he said quietly. "I…"

"You can tell me anything though." She gave him a reassuring smile.

He looked at her. Not this I can't… He shook his head, then shrugged. "Okay." He replied simply.

"Anyway, so do we have any plans today? I think i may have a few victims to take care of this week. But it's only Tuesday. So that can wait"

Troy blinked, thinking. "Oh. Right…I don't know." He shrugged. "Do we have anything today?" He looked over at her, raising his eyebrows.

"Well like I said…. I have a few people on the hit list. But other than that….nope!"
She says with a rather innocent smile.

He smiled back, a little forced. "Alright. Up to you." He replied.

"well lets go then" She says standing up and stretching.

He nodded, and stood. He let out a soft breath, then pulled his hood up and over his head.
