Ambrose was quiet for the most part, as usual, he was wandering along the beach a fig in hand as he walked. Whenever he was considered missing, it was quite easy to find him. He was always by the beach. He was immersed in thought, a small frown on his lips as he tossed the fig up and down. The prophecy hung heavy over his head. Only he, his mother, and the gods knew of the prophecy, the warning signs, however it was known among his kingdom that he was supposed to become a powerful warrior. At the moment, as he looked over the vast sea, he felt so incredibly small. He settled on a rock as the waves lapped at his ankles.

Constantine sighed as he set down his heavy load of clothing that was freshly cleaned. His hooded eyes surveyed the area he was in, looking around the Greek beachside before going in the house again. He loved the beach, but doing laundry close to the beach and sand was as exhausting as one could expect. Sand always got into the garments.
Constantine’s eyes suddenly picked up a shadow on the beach lounging on their property, which was a little far off, but still unrecognizable. The servant wove his way down to the beach, wondering who was there, and wasn’t able to tell who was there until he got into earshot.
“Who is— oh, I’m sorry, sir.” It was his master Ambrose, standing in thought, and Constantine was not able to make him out due to the sun.

Ambrose's mind was like a storm, chaotic, loud, thoughts flashing through him like lightning. He needed to take a breather and focus, so he shut his eyes and took a deep breath, inhaling the salty air that surrounded him. He focused on breathing, focused on honing in his thoughts, easing as he remembered a few of the breathing techniques he was taught during his training.
Ambrose's hair waved slightly in the breeze, he could hear the footsteps of someone coming close. He could recognize the pace and pattern of footsteps of Constantine, his servant as well as long time friend, come to his side. He opened his eyes and glanced at Constantine, a small smile falling over his lips. "It's fine. Come sit." He pats the rock he was currently sitting on. Ambrose… was surely something. He was very modest for someone who was trained to be a fearsome warrior.

Constantine seemed to have that exact thought as he rubbed the back of his head, visually confused. Despite all of the time they spent together, Constantine was still puzzled by Ambrose sometimes. His treatment of others and his kind, deeply thoughtful temperament also probably puzzled the gods, too.
The servant shuffled over, sitting down the farthest away he could to give Ambrose more sitting room if he wanted. He looked at the slight grin on the other’s lips, curious what he was thinking about as Constantine studied the rest of his face.
“Your eyes, they’re worried,” He murmured softly, tilting his head. “Is everything alright, Master Ambrose?”

Ambrose always seemed so warm to people, no matter their status. He worked hard to help those less fortunate, and when he wasn't training or wandering the beach, or doing any of his duties, he was often in the town, playing with the children. He was odd, that was for sure. He always seemed to flow like the sea, calm, as it was now. Little knew of the rage he could unleash, many did not want to risk it. Ambrose glanced at Constantine, a small smile on his lips. "I won't bite." His voice was smooth and sweet, like the warmest honey. When asked about his eyes he paused at that before humming. "I am simply worried on what I should do this afternoon. I have some free time since I finished my studies early." He shrugged and smiled a bit.

Constantine, unlike other servants, didn’t admire Ambrose much for his kindness to others below him. While he greatly appreciated it and liked Ambrose for his kindness, he didn’t think Ambrose was looking for admiration from
anyone, as a lot of his servants gave. Perhaps that’s why Ambrose liked him, Constantine, so much as a friend.
Constantine scooted closer, after hesitating for a moment.
“Ah, I was just a little worried. I hadn’t seen you all day so far.” He gave a small shrug and grinned back awkwardly. When it came to his masters he wasn’t sure how to act.

Ambrose wasn't one who boasted about his deeds, or looked for admiration. He was just simply doing it because it was something he enjoyed. He didn't feel the need to risk anything. He sighed deeply and ran a hand through his hair, shaking himself out of his thoughts. He didn't want to dwell on his thoughts right now. Who know how far they might go. He glances at Constantine and smiled softly, "Ah, sorry if I worried you." He chuckles a bit. His stark blue eyes wander the beach around them, the wind ruffling his hair a bit before he turns his attention back to Constantine. "How has your day been so far?" He asks curiously, his head tilting to the side slightly.

Constantine rubbed the back of his head, picking at a sunburn that was starting to form there from working in the sun. He was quite impervious to the sun, hence his tanned body and genetics, but he always got sunburns on his neck and shoulders when he forgot to cover, or it simply got too hot.
“That’s okay, Master Ambrose. I knew you were safe somewhere.” While it was the servant’s
job to sacrifice themselves for their masters, Constantine hadn’t really gotten the grip of that idea yet.
“My day was fine. I’m a little sunburned. It’s quite hot out here, yes?”

@Vuclan-is-tired

He nods at the others words, a soft hum leaving his lips. It was rare for Ambrose to get sunburns. He just got tan. He glances at Constantine and offered a small smile. "It is a bit hot out today. Just means that the solstice is coming up. It'll probably start getting cooler in month or so." He leaned his head up to soak up the sun, a content sigh leaving his lips. "Would you like to join me in town today?" He asks curiously, sprawling out on the rock while the waves lapped at his feet. He placed his hands under his head to serve as a pillow. "You don't have to, of course, I just figured your company would be nice."

@tungsten fastfood

Constantine nodded at the mention of the solstice, but only had an inkling of an idea of what it meant. He assumed that’s when the sun was at its highest, which wasn’t necessarily a good thing. He expected for it get hotter for the next few days. Though at the promise of cooler weather, he couldn’t help but smile a little. He liked hanging out with Ambrose. Ambrose had no problem passing intelligence and knowledge on.
“Join you in town? Of course I’d like to. I think I’ve done everything I need to do.” His mind went back to mulling over his chores. He needed to put the clothing away and make sure the evening meals were ready.

@Vuclan-is-tired

He nods a bit and settles back into the warmth of the rock, his eyes shutting slightly. It would indeed get warmer, but that was fine. He didn't mind. He hummed and glances at the other, a small smile on his lips. "That's good." He chuckles quietly before sitting up and stretching slightly, "If you need help finishing anything I can help." This wasn't unusual for Ambrose, he often offered to help servants with their chores. He had certainly come back changed after his training. No one but his father knew where he had gone. When he had come back he was more matured, both in body and soul. He let out a soft breath and offered his hand to the other. "We can also pack some snacks." He hummed thoughtfully.

Constantine looked away, shutting his eyes against the bright sun. He could see the great orb outlined on his eyelids as it had burned into his corneas all day. Blinking was a fine break against the brightness. Working in the sun was taking it out on him.
"I just need to make sure things are done around the property," He hummed softly. "I don't need anything, sir, I can do it. Thank you for offering though. That is very kind of you." He swiped his dry tongue across his lips, reminding himself that he needed to drink before they left.
Constantine had noticed the change in Ambrose, but based on stories he was told. He had only been Abrose's servants for a few days before he had left, so Constantine could really only guess how Ambrose was like beforehand.

@Vuclan-is-tired

He nods a little bit at the others words. He wanted to help where he could, after all he couldn't sit still for long. So he hopped up and stretched again, a bright hum leaving his lips and he offered a tan hand to the other. "Shall we get head back then?" He offered one of those bright smiles, his bright blue eyes shimmering in the light reflected off the waves.
Ambrose had become more mature, that was for sure. Before he left, he was eccentric, loud, and had an affinity for mischief. He was still a boy before he left. When he came back home, he was calmer, he had more grace to him, he was wiser, stronger, and faster. Truly a gift from the gods. He was mature. Some had missed his young energy when he had come back, others were grateful for the change. The only thing that hadn't changed was his kindness and his fierce loyalty to his home.
