(Sure, and don’t be sorry it’s a great idea
I’m just braindead and I didn’t sleep last night so I can’t think lmao)
(Just sort of…. Skip to Rafael sitting down at their table on a break?)
Macha shifted her chair so that she was on the side of the table next to Tyler and Rafael was across from him. Slipping her hand into her boyfriend’s, she gave Rafael a friendly but slightly anxious smile. Thanks, anxiety. “So, what other classes are you taking?”
Rafael shifted slightly, keeping his eyes firmly away from Tyler. They’re engages you idiot! “Uhh, some other history courses, a few visual arts courses, painting and stuff.”
Right. I feel like we're interrogating him..and he won't look at me.. Tyler nodded and squeezed Macha's hand.
Social situations are not my forte!!!!!! What do I do?!!!?
Rafael shifted slightly. “Uhh, congrats on your engagement.”
Fuck. Tyler didn't look up at Macha, hoping she hadn't heard Rafael, even though there was no chance of that.
Macha’s brows immediately drew together, and she shot a confused look at Tyler. What??
Tyler squeezed her hand. I kind of panicked and told him we were engaged and I’m sorry becuase I know we aren’t and I’m really sorry.. He looked down, not meeting her eyes.

Rafael’s eyes darted between the two. There’s no way they aren’t telepaths. They were clearly communicating, and Tyler looked.. uncomfortable? What?
Hey it’s fine, you panicked, no harm done. What do we do now??
Tyler breathed out, relieved. I love you so much. And I have no idea..
Macha smiled a tiny bit, racking her brain to figure out what to say. Love you too.
“Err, we’re not exactly engaged yet, just discussing the idea,” she blurted out.
Rafael nodded hastily, he could feel the tension in the air. “Well um, I hope it works out.”
Tyler laughed a little, running his hand through his hair nervously. “I think it’s kinda my fault..”
Macha squeezed his hand reassuringly. Rafael furrowed his brow. “Come again?”
“I’ve just…there’s a lot going on..”
Rafael understood immediately, or at least he thought he did. The guy just have been caught off guard when he’d asked for his number and blurted something out. “Hey, it’s fine, don’t worry about it.”
Tyler smiled gratefully at him. “Thanks. I mean, it’s not you you’re not a problem.”
Rafael and Macha both smiled back. “No problem, what classes do you take?” he asked, trying to initiate conversation.
"Uhh…physics and stuff, oceanography, biology.." He trailed off, not being able to remember any of the others.
Rafael nodded. “Cool.” He found it a bit strange that the guy seemed to be uncertain about all of his courses, but who was he to judge?
Macha squeezed Tyler’s hand again. “You from around here, Rafael?”
Tyler sighed, looking down and frowning slightly, trying to remember what classes he had this afternoon.
“No, we moved from Mexico to Orlando a few years ago.”
Macha nodded, smiling. “Cool.”
Your schedule’s in your bag, sweetheart.
(these two are couple goals though)
Thanks. He got it out and looked at it thoroughly, memorizing his classes the best he could.
(ikr)
Rafael's brow creased with a question, one that he didn't ask.
(skip? the conversation's sort of dying)

The journey from Tyler's car to the front door of the house was the longest and most stressful journey Macha had taken in all her two weeks of university. Clinging to Tyler's hand, she racked her brain for the reason she'd decided to come with him in the first place. Her chest heaved with each breath she took and there was a hard lump of anxiety rooted in her chest. Ohgodohgodohgod.
