"Mrow," the cat replied, almost sounding like "how," but she licked her paw delicately to hide the blending of words.

"Crate. People carry cats into the store all the time. I could also give you a little coat. I make them all the time for cats. It could hide your key. At least good enough" She explained.

The cat finished licking her paw, and her tail swished as she dipped her head, almost like a nod in agreement.

"Alright, do you want to follow me home or can I carry you?" She tilted her head at the cat.

The cat rose to her feet, but she didn't walk anywhere. Instead, she indistinctly meowed. You decide.

She slowly walked towards the cat and carefully picked her up, it was gentle and perfect, as if she's done it millions of times before.

The cat meowed as she was picked up, but she relaxed in Strew's grip almost immediately once she was settled.

"Are you comfortable?" She asked before starting to her house.

The cat meowed again and melted against Shrew's chest, rubbing her face on her carrier's shirt.
