"I will do my utmost best to not worry much," He promised. Then he went added, "We do! I am grateful for that."
Theo waited till Abigail got out of the car to do the same. He spent the next minute or so stretching out his legs and arms. Those cars always feel small to him. His bones made quiet cracking sounds as he extended a leg or an arm. While he isn't fond of the sounds, he is fond of the relief that comes immediately afterwards.
With the adjustment of his messenger bag, he turned around on his left heel to see that Abigail had already gotten the rest of his belongings. "I- oh…" His index finger raised only for it to recoil. Man, she is on a roll. He tapped the hood of the car then scurried over to her side. "Thank you for the help and for driving me here."
“Oh, don’t mention it.” Abigail clutched bags with one arm and clutched her skirt with the other as she walked up the stairs of the house. “Now, come along. I plan to get you settled in by dinner.”
Abigail stood on the steps for a few moments, waiting for Theo to catch up, before she headed into the home. The Williams household was a much fancier home than most of the ones in Sterling. With its lavish carpet, large stone fireplace, and tall ceilings, it was easy to tell that the Williams were one of the more wealthy and respected families in the town.
He had his hand out behind Abigail's back while carefully going up the steps. Occasionally, he would glance over to see if she needed any help then returned to looking down at each stair. He laughed a little then said, "Yes ma'am." She really is on a roll here.
Theo did his best to catch up, but when he finally made it, he stopped. "Wow…" His chin was tilted up as he took in the house's exterior details. The place looks absolutely lovely. He's surprised that he didn't really take a good look before when they were in the car. Ambling inside, he just stopped again after only taking a few steps. Believe him, he's the worst person to take to a museum because all he'd do is stare at everything.
Lowering his chin, he looked at Abigail. "Your home, it's very nice. It's pretty."
“If you think this is nice, wait until you see the other rooms.”
Abigail began to lead him through the rest of the house and, just like she’d stated, the rest of the home was gorgeous. They had many rooms that were set aside for different purposes- such as their offices, dinning area, and personal library— along with five bedrooms. Theo, unlike the many of the rooms, didn’t have many decorations or furniture. Since it was a guest room, it had only a bed, a nightstand, and closet, but it still had a comfortable feel to it.
“I’m sure you won’t be in here much. After all, there’s a lot to do in Sterling, so I’m sure you’ll be out exploring and such.” She brought his luggage over to the bed and set them down. “But feel free to decorate it however you want.”
As they walked, he kept turning his neck every which way. Occasionally he would whisper an "ooh" or an "ahh". It was gorgeous. He wanted to explore parts of it if he is allowed to do so. When they entered the room he would be in, he clasped his hands with glee.
Theo strolled over to the bed then turned around to look at the rest of the room. He was not sure how to decorate the room. The only kind of decorations he brought with him was a framed photo his mother, father, and the three of them. He does have an envelope of photos that his father took from over the years; perhaps later he can hang them up and make one collective picture.
"This all is very swell. I don't know how I'd decorate it, but I look forward to it," He beamed. There's so much he looks forward to. All of this exploring and learning, it's going to be something. Theo sighed then glanced over at Abigail. "I can't thank you enough, really. It means the world to me."
