"Um… I dunno, to be honest." He sighed softly and wandered over to Hideki's side to see what he was doing. "Those are really good!" He chirped, guys eyes wide with curiosity and wonder. "Did you draw those?" He asked. "I can't draw for shit, honestly. I can't even draw a stick figure." He laughed softly.
(casually throws in "not an artist" cliche phrases)

The man’s cheeks reddened slightly as he turned to see how close Kirin’s face was to his. “So what if I were the ones who drew these? It’s not like other people can’t draw better than I can or anything like that… plus, I did use references…” he said, his eyes shaking slightly at how close Kirin was to him and how good his smell was.

"Well, yeah, but they're still really good! Cut yourself some slack, man. Give yourself some credit." Kirin drank some more of his coffee and rested his elbows on the table. "And doesn't everybody use references? There's no way somebody could draw that good without looking at something, right?"
“I mean… true,” he sighed softly before looking through his feed, eventually turning to the clock. “We have half an hour to waste before we have to go to class. You want to go find something to eat?” He asked, getting ready just in case.
"Yeah, sure. I'm starving. There's an IHOP pretty close to here if you think we could get it in time." Kirin yawned and shrugged a bit, sticking his cup in the sink. "I can drive. Or we can walk to McDonald's, but that's not as good, y'know? I'll really eat anything, though."
“Please drive us to the IHOP, I’m tired of McDonald’s except for their Filet,” the other man said with a bright smile as he packed his bags. “No time should go to waste, let’s go,”
"Alright, alright, let's go." Kirin smiled softly and led Hideki out of their dorm room with a contented hum. "We'll have to be quick, though, since IHOP doesn't have a drive through." He yawned a bit and got into the driver's seat of his car when they reached it.
Hideki got in the passenger’s seat and sighed softly. “I crave pancakes and waffles and chicken and…” he felt his stomach growl and sighed softly again. “I crave food in general,” he said with a nervous laugh. “Please drive,”
"I'm going, I'm going. And if you're getting all of that, you're paying for yourself." Kirin snickered a bit. "I'm kinda broke, so…" He drove off, drumming his fingertips on the wheel as he went. "I'm getting pancakes for sure."
“I never said I wanted you to pay now did I? If you don’t have enough money you can just have some of mine. We’re… best friends, after all…” for some reason, the man looked a bit sad saying that but he managed to mask it quite a bit. “They have syrup though, right? This place I mean,”
"Yeah, yeah. I don't wanna be a mooch, though." Kirin laughed softly and kept driving. "And yeah, they have syrup. Pretty sure every pancake place in the world has got syrup in some way, shape, or form." He yawned a bit, checking over his shoulder before changing lanes.
“Just making sure, just making sure,” he sighed softly and looked down at the bag he brought with him. His eyes widened slightly when he realized that he hadn’t finished one of the lectures he had for business. “Oi, Kirin, have you finished the assignment for business class?”
"Uhh…" Kirin considered for a few seconds, honestly not really remembering. "Uh… yeah, I think so. Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I did." He hummed softly as he drove, making sure to pay attention to the road. "I'm guessing you didn't?"
“Yupppp,” the other man said with almost a dramatic tone. “We’re gonna die, unless the teacher calls a day-off which is as likely as me, winning the lottery. Also known as 0%,” Hideki said with a soft sigh. “I suppose it’s not that I can’t do it, I just don’t have the energy to do so,”
"Well, if I did do it, you're welcome to borrow my answers." Kirin shrugged a bit as he pulled up to the IHOP and parked his car. He got out with Hideki, humming softly to himself. "Alright, we gotta try to be fast."

Hideki went out of the car soon after, carrying his little things as he did. He found himself staring at Kirin for a moment before he had turned to the IHOP. There was a tingling, he felt it somewhere close to his chest yet he had no idea why it was forming and why he had felt it. He wasn’t having a heart attack, that much was certain. “How fast are we talking?”

Kirin pushed open the door to the IHOP and headed inside with Hideki, humming softly to himself. "Well, uh… pretty." He shrugged a bit. "We don't have a ton of time. We might have to take it to-go if it takes more than like… twenty minutes, maybe. Give or take a few minutes."
“I suppose we can have it to go and eat in class? It’s not like we’re going to be the only people who do that anyways,” he claimed, looking at the menu and gritting his teeth as he didn’t know what to really get. “Chicken and waffles sound nice… pancakes are also nice…” before he knew it, the man had gone through the entirety of the menu, mumbling how it would be nice to have them. Eventually, he gave a defeated sigh and turned to Kirin. “I’m having what you’re having since I can’t decide on my own like a normal human being should be able to do,”
"Well, I'm just getting pancakes, so if you want something more substantial, you can get something different." Kirin shrugged again and stuck his hands in his pockets. "Up to you. I think I'll just order to-go, honestly. It's a safer bet." He headed up to the counter to order first, letting Hideki have some more time to decide.
Hideki soon went to place his order of pancakes as well as an order of omelette and crispy bacon. The employee had taken the order, all for to-go, to which Hideki smiled softly. “There we go,” he turned to look at Kirin. “Let’s share the omelette and bacon, alright?”
"Sure, sounds good to me." Kirin sat down in the waiting area to wait for the food, resting his head up against the wall. "Usually they're not too slow, and it's not super busy, so we should be alright. Anything you wanna talk about while we wait?" He asked curiously.
“Uhh… no particular topic I want to talk about. Well, I say that but I suppose we can talk about where you’ve been last week? I’m guessing sports got the best of ya?” He asked with a rather sad look. “You really have to learn how to sleep properly,”
"Yeah." Kirin laughed dryly. "And some Theatre, as well. They were holding auditions last week." He yawned a bit and ran his fingers through his hair. "But you don't have to worry so much about me. I'm pretty used to not sleeping much, so I'm sure my body is used to running on only a couple hours at this point."
