Appearance: Dark gold eyes with little flecks of yellow that looked like sparkles; naturally thick and long lashes framing them. Her hair is a bright gold that isn't quite blonde but isn't brunette either–similar to the color of a gold ingot–and is long, wavy, and full of volume. She has a muscular body with a perfect mixture of curves and slimness that just enhanced her beauty. High and prominent cheekbones, full and soft looking lips, sharp and defined jawline. She has faint scars that marred her seemingly flawless, naturally light tan skin. Her one cheekbone is slightly caved in because it was shattered by a hit to the face with a crowbar. She's somewhat tall at 5'8.
Personality: She's an Aries and a sun dragon, so she's obviously got a very fiery personality. She's also very independent and doesn't listen to just anyone, energetic (even with a lack of sunlight), and will plow through any challenge with her head held high. She seeks any sort of fun at all times, even at the expense of her peers, and considers herself very stylish. She always dresses to impress, though her natural beauty and intriguing persona are usually all she needs to impress others. She can be childish at times, though it's only around her closest friends. She's impulsive and forceful, which usually gets her into trouble. She's also very cocky and isn't shy about it. However, if someone can break through her walls, she's loyal to the bone and will risk everything to keep her friends safe and unharmed. She's the first person to throw themselves into danger to prevent others from getting hurt, physically and emotionally. She enjoys setting things on fire and causing explosions, and will put on multiple masks to keep her true self hidden and out of harm's way. Most of these masks make her seem cold and bloodthirsty, which no care about those she hurts or even kills. While she may not feel too bad about it, she does have a heart and will regret the losses of innocents that became collateral damage because of her.
Backstory: She was placed into the foster care system when she was born thanks to her doctors who drugged her mom and made her think she was signing some medical papers (they were really saying that she was unfit to be Tess's mother). By the time she was 16 (when her friend Cinthia got her out of the system), she had had 20 different homes. Most of her time was spent on the streets of New York. This is where she learned how to steal and became a notorious criminal when she successfully broke into multiple government facilities (some were supposed to be secret). That was how she became affiliated with the Mafia.
During her time with her foster families, she mostly spent her time locked in basements, or closets (they were afraid of her and her uncontrollable abilities). When she wasn't, she was in a hospital being experimented on or in asylums or institutions. She never had the courage to end it all but thought about it frequently.
Joining the Mafia: When she was twelve, Tessa was beaten really badly by her older foster brother with a crowbar–her cheek was shattered and permanently sunken in + multiple bruises and fractures. She got caught by the police because she knew she was going to be executed. The Mafia had caught wind of her exploits from a mole in the government–her stepfather that she has no clue about–and offered her a new chance at life.
Likes: Spicy food and pasta, fire, being outside, cuddles, singing, dancing, music in general
Dislikes: Basements, small closets, being underground, being told what she can/can't do, doctors and scientists, needles, hospitals, the foster care system
Other: She was once a drug addict and is still an alcoholic. She enjoys listening to rock and metal music. She has Cleisiophobia (fear of being locked in an enclosed area) Bees hate her (she gives off heat, and they don't like heat). She doesn't know how to drive a car. She once had a pet rat. She's also a really good dancer and singer and will flaunt that talent to get a few quick bucks.
Magic:As I mentioned above, she's a sun dragon shapeshifter. As a Sun Dragon Shapeshifter, she can obviously turn into a sun dragon. When fully shifted, she's a giant, heavy, and sort of boxy dragon with a golden and impenetrable hide. She can also partially shift, maintaining her humanoid form while having dragon legs, wings, tail, horns, and scales (she can pick and choose what features she wants and can control where the scales show up) In this form, she typically changes her hands to be claws with thick scales along her arms to act as armor. She also has slitted eyes and a long forked tongue.
Her magical abilities revolve around the sun. She can summon fire, either in the form of typical flames or explosions (though she prefers explosions). Her blood is flammable and extremely explosive when exposed to the air. But, the amount of power she has depends on the sun's position and how much sunlight she's gotten. The higher the sun, the more power she has. The more sunlight she's gotten, the more energy (both magical and normal) she has. She basically does photosynthesis. She's at her weakest at night. Then, she can't summon any fire and can only partially manipulate existing flames, and her dragon form is only the size of a horse. She can't half-shift either.
Just lemme know if she's too OP. I will note that she doesn't usually use her abilities all the time, mostly for intimidation or entertainment.
