Every Blue Moon, the gods send down the Staars, three. Only three for the promise of good fortune for another millennium. But even more so, to prosperity of the kingdom……through unknown power.

Let me explain.

When Staars fall, they become as us, made of flesh…. well for the most part. They are pure and beautiful compared to us, truly otherworldly beings. Sometimes with parts of animals, they are , with blood as shimmering as star dust. We call them Wish Granters, for when captured, they can grant wishes of your deepest desire. Nothing is insurmountable for them, they are said to even raise the dead when asked. Such power has brought us great flourishment and yet great tribulation in times past.

I wonder what will be now. I watch as they fall from the sky, the people cheer and make merry even through the fear and gloom that haunts the streets of the kingdom. What shall our Highness do once the Staars have fallen? What would that mean for us? The beauty of the sight in the sky steals away the questions I cannot answer, but this I know: Tis an exciting time to be alive. Indeed.

This is the story of a Wish Granter (something akin to a genie) and a cold and malicious king. When spoken to by the gods in a dream, he is troubled and goes to hunt the night of the Blue Moon, where he finds a freshly fallen Wish Granter. He hunts her instead. Now, he has enslaved power and plans for greatness… which comes at humbling consequences. Will the Wish Granter be enough to break him so true righteousness came shine through? Or with this king crush the kingdom in his fists?

Five wishes…. To change a heart of stone

I didn't know if you were planning on DMing me so I took the initiative. Hello!

Name: King Marumius “Rumius” Archuio
Age: 21
Gender/Sexuality: Male/Omnisexual
Appearance: A young man standing at 6' with long black hair that hugs his rather weak cheeks. A strong chin in comparison is usually hidden by thick cloak folds that form upwards into a hood. This is his favorite jacket outerwear, made out of long silk and velvet that shifts and twirls with his movements. Dark brown eyes and strong brows and forehead.
Personality: Surprisingly a more shy and reserved type, and he much dislikes being king. Most of his people observe his pushy nature as animalistic and mean, while he simply wishes to no longer be king. Yet somehow, he is known for being a lucrative business man, and has a brain for manipulation.
Role: The King
Backstory: Was forced into this position by familial means, assured that the people under him would support a stupid, overwhelmed young man. They were wrong, as the noble men underneath him mostly take advantage of his lack of wisdom and precise prowess in authority.

Name: She doesn't have one, but he will name her "Reene" which means "Doe" in their language.
Age: Appears to be 21 (But is literally a star soooo…..let's just say she's a LOOOOT older)
Gender/Sexuality: Female/ Straight
Appearance:
She has skin of pale brown, covered in white freckles like constellations along her body. But you will see them crowd along the bridge of her nose and up to pan along her forehead. They fade into her bright white hair that hangs down her back. She is 5'8 and softly curved. Her eyes are a dark blue and if you look close enough, you can see stars in them. She just fell from the sky in the form of a ball of light, so in actuality, when found, she's naked. But we'll eventually get some clothes on her and you'll come to find she is quite smitten with soft gowns of baby blue and white.
Personality: She is quiet, but quite curious about this new world around her, even though she's homesick. Reene is very observant and diligenet in what she does, found to be very wise, but her voice is soft, so she is usually unheeded and dismissed for her young age ((as a star)) Taking up this new role as a Wish Granter, she must find a stronger voice, a voice of power and capability, or she will fail in her mission.
Role: The Wish Granter
Backstory: Being a child of the Night, as a Staar, Reene was destined to fall to the earth and bring peace and prosperity (or ruin and destruction) Now that she has fallen, she is eager to fulfill her Father's instruction and save the kingdom she was gifted to.

Falling. Such a magnificent feeling. Wind engulfs you and you feel light, even as the ground grows closer at an alarming speed. But she didn’t mind it, with eyes closed, she fell from her place in the heavens knowing one day she’d return. Bot for now, she had a job to do.

She landed in a snow covered forrest, her skin sizzling as she rolled to a cooling halt. And for a moment, she just laid there. She was really on Earth, no long was it the unreachable , she was truly there. “Ma’Ato Scrono” Thank you, Father. She whispered as she sat up to look about. The Wind tousled and mused her hair, a farewell kiss as snow flurries swirled in the air. She made herself to stand on shaky legs and look. It was truly beautiful under the sky as it was in it. The Moon cast such a fine light over the Kingdom, illuminating deep green trees and pure white snow. Such wonders she had never truly seen.

The Staar took a few unsteady steps forward, reaching out to touch the leaves of a nearby tree. The snow coated her fingers in moister as she pressed the leave in her hands. A brand new world! One she'd only seen from afar.

A long cloak traced lines through the powdery blanket topped with flirtatious pines and broken branches. Other marks and paths of animals crossed the apex predator making his way stealthily through the shining forest, gleaming in the moonlight. The breeze whispered snow off of the branches and onto an unwilling head, hooded from the cold as he ran steadily.
There was a rumor circulating in his country, among the small countrymen, power held in the hands of people who could grant wishes as they pleased. Such individuals deserved royalty and people to guide their way, just like Rumius planned on doing. He'd make his Staar comfortable and live next to him as an equal.
A hush of falling snow alerted eyes to a movement a few feet away, Rumius sneaking through in an attempt to sneak up on what he hoped was his Staar.
He was not disappointed, seeing a profile view of her curious touching of the green leaves and cold snow. How to approach such a gentle creature, though?
With a sweep of his cloak, he removed the clasps to reveal his dark hair, coal against soft silk of snow, stepping out audibly to make himself known. His dark eyes were lowered and respectful, and he bowed politely to her.
"Hello, my Staar," Rumius mused.

The Staar's eyes flickered toward the sound of snow crunching, her body tensing with fear. Was it a wild animal? Something stirred from it's slumber by her noisy descent? She had heard tells of fearful beasts with fangs like silver and talons like sharpened iron. But what she saw was neither vicious nor beastly. It appeared to be a male…..a human male at that! A flutter of excitement stirred in her belly as she took a slow, small step forward. She moved out from under the canopy of leaves, into the light. Her eyes were radiant as she looked on him with curiosity. She held out a hand, her palm facing him, but it wasn't clear whether she wanted to touch or keep him away.

"Oro'kata ly'em…" She spoke softly. Hello friend…

The snow seemed to melt when their eyes met, somehow lighting up the dark heart Rumius held because of his hopeless position. It all flew away upon stepping closer, stepping slowly as if trying not to scare off a delicate deer. He approached that hand, offering his own palm to press against hers. The skin touched, soft sensations, both warm, matched a fellow humanity unanimous among living things. Dark skin stark against the king's pale one, but something soft passed behind those dark eyes as he viewed her up close.
Those strange words sloshed around in Rumius' head, trying to process the language he had never heard before. And he had heard many languages of human kinds before. Yet this one suggested a different spectrality, relating nothing to any other language.
"Hello," Rumius breathed again, "I am Marumius Archuio. I live in the city near here, I came searching for you."

A soft gasped passed through her lips as the male approached and pressed his hand to hers. His touch was warm, and she couldn't help but notice that his hand was a bit bigger than hers, his fingers continuing where hers stopped. Her eyes locked with his dark ones and there she knew. This was the one she came for. The one her Father told her she would help. This was him! Her countenance brightened and she took a step closer.

As he spoke, her eyes narrowed a bit, her face confused and questioning. It was clear she didn't know what he was saying, but she knew a way to fix that. Her hands found their way to his shoulders, pulling him down slightly to her height. If she could just…

Her lips, soft and cold, pressed against him for a brief moment. A moment that was gone just as soon as it came. She pulled away, her tongue feeling looser and her lips tingling. "Mar…rumius Ar…chuio…" her words were unsure and slow, but she looked at him with hope in her eyes.

Rumius watched her draw closer, not daring to move anything but his hand which dropped by the time The Staar decided to come closer. He bent down, at a slight crouch, when she pulled on him, not sure what she expected from him. Did she want to be at eye level or something?
Then his question was answered. Soft, cold lips pressed against his warm slightly dry ones (due to traveling and the cold), and he jumped back straight up. His cloak flumped to the ground, and he took a moment to look at her in shock. It increased as she was able to speak his name, with slow, easy pronunciations.
"Yes, that is my name," Rumius responded through bated breath. "You may call me Rumius. What is your name?" He points to her, also bending down to pick up his cloak. With a couple of smooth, easy motions, he swept the velvet, thick coat around her shoulders, covering that chilly naked skin for her. "And please, let me bring you to warmth. I am sure there are dangerous people out here." After his shock, joy in finding her had covered his face. There would certainly be a market for Staars, where they would be taken in for cruelty and strife. Especially in their strange beauty, that amazing glowing skin and warm voice.

He jumped, causing a thick layer of his skin to fall to the ground. Did she hurt him? The Staar looked over him with concern. She took a step away from him, looking at his face, his widened eyes. One thing was clear though, he understood her words, and she understood his! The look of surprise on his face told her that he was not use to the workings of the gods. Something her father told her was common among mortals.

"Rumius…" She repeated as he leaned down and raised the skin from the ground. She tensed as he wrapped it around her, surprised to be suddenly enveloped in warmth. She gripped the skin, enjoying the feel of the fur between her fingers. "My name…. what is my name?" She thought for a moment, looking pointedly to Rumius for an answer. "Don't you need this skin?" She asked
