@Camie-simps-for-Eve-Best here we are!

You should start this one, lol. It wouldn't make sense for the ghost to be the starter.

(I got you!)

Anna strolled through the park on her way to work. The case she had been briefed on yesterday seemed to be exponentially difficult, and whenever she had a hard case, she preferred to take the longer, scenic route to clear everything from her mind but the client's details. Her heels clicked as she strode through the park, passing by the fountain. She sighed and tucked her honey-colored hair behind her ear before opening the door and entering the building and heading to her office.

"Anna," Nathan called as he heard her pass his office.

She stopped and backtracked her steps for a moment. "Yes?"

"You have a client waiting in your office. I knew you'd be here soon, so I figured I'd just let him in for you."

Anna nodded her appreciation briefly. "Alright. Thank you, Nathan." She continued down the hall and pulled open the door to her office. "Hello, sir," she greeted, hanging her coat on the hanger briefly and smoothing her dress to take a seat behind her desk.

The man glared at her and said nothing.

Currently, Daniel was sitting cross-legged on the ceiling of Anna's office, bored. He'd been haunting it for years now, and never once had he announced his presence, not even with so much as a ghost-wind. He was watching the man in the chair with narrowed eyes.

"Y'know, if you want a job, look less asshole-ish." he mutters, knowing Anna can't hear him. When Anna had first moved into the office, he was skeptical of her, but over time had grown quite fond of her.

Waiting, he listened carefully, watching the man for any signs of agression towards Anna.

Anna cleared her throat. "Uhm… alright…" she muttered, opening the file Nathan had already put on her desk. Anna frowned in confusion as she flipped through the papers. Apparently, Nathan had done some more work without her knowledge. Typical. "Mr… Kerling? It says here you've been arrested for suspicion of murder. The trial will be in a week. We need to find evidence and have a plausible cause to prove your innocence before them… and after I receive the transcript from your interrogation with the detectives, it should be a bit easier…"

The man stood up suddenly. "Cut the legal shit!" Anna jumped as he shouted. "Tell me what I have to do to get off without any consequences."

"Oh, he did something he's trying to get off Scott-free. Even worse." Daniel mutters, drifting down rom the ceiling and watching Mr. Kerling for any more signs of violence.

"And you'd better not try anything, buckaroo." he adds.

Sighing, he retreats to avoid anyone that may or may not brush through him. Being passed through was very umpleasant, to say the least.

Anna lifted her chin and began to tremble slightly, hiding it by folding her fingers together and looking at him calmly. "I'm afraid the chances of that are very slim, Mr. Kerling," she said. "Now, depending on your interrogation goes with the detectives, it could be better or worse. Now, as I was saying, your interrogation is a vital part of this process. Would you like me to be present?"

"No, I don't need a fucking lawyer snooping around in all of my business!" Before Anna could react, he picked up the plate on her desk that read "Anna Clayton" and threw it at her head.

As quickly as she could, Anna threw her hands up to protect herself.

Daniel watches as Mr. Kerling intimidates and threatens Anna, and growls. But when he throws the plate at her, he catches it in the air, stopping it dead. He looks positively pissed at Mr. Kerling.

"No." he says. He makes sure neither of them can see or hear him. "Not happening."

He lets the plate drop.

Anna braced herself for an impact that never came. She looked up to see her nameplate hovering in front of her face before it dropped into her lap. She gasped softly, looking just as shocked as the man who had thrown it at her. With a new, set determination on her face, Anna rose to her feet and pointed to the door. "Leave my office. Immediately!"

Kerling backed away and ran down the hallway.

Nathan appeared in her doorway seconds later. "Anna, what happened?"

"I don't know," she breathed. Her heart was still racing.

"Well, I have a client who just ran out of here cursing and saying you know witchcraft."

Anna blinked rapidly. "What? I-I don't know what you're talking about."

Daniel snorts, but realizes what he'd done. "Oh. Oh shit. Oh, shit."

He shakes his head at himself, very embarassed. "I done fucked up is what I did."

@emilyevewrites group

Nathan narrowed his eyes at her. "I need you to tell me these things, Anna."

"Nathan, I swear," Anna said slowly. "I don't practice witchcraft. You've known me for five years!"

"He said you can levitate items. Show me."

Anna inhaled slowly. "I can't…"

Daniel sighs and picks up Nathan's nameplate, brining it around to show it's owner.

"Well, I suppose I'm doing this now." he mutters.

@emilyevewrites group

Nathan's eyes widened. "You… He was right…"

Anna's breath hitched. "What?" she breathed, trembling slightly.

"Why… Why don't you take the rest of the day off, Anna?" Nathan suggested.

Daniel drops the plate into Anna's hands.

"It is kinda funny, though." he sighs. He follows her.

(Lol, yeah. Sorry, I'm just laughing so hard at Qûs'ÿltn and Farah's dynamic, and they were on my mind.)

Deleted user

(Sorry for barging in here- but so far I have laughed harder than I have in a while at a single RP, and I have no clue why!)

@emilyevewrites group

(Haha it's okay. Yeah, that one is interesting lmao)

Anna slowly handed Nathan his nameplate back, gathered her things, and left quickly. She looked down at her hands as she walked, utterly shocked. "What was that?" she whispered.

Daniel shrugs, and doesn't make his presence known quite just yet.

"Well, I'm actually stuck with her now. Way to go, Daniel." he mutters, trailing closely after Anna. He's so lost in his thoughts that his footsteps can be heard.

@emilyevewrites group

Anna glanced behind her to see if Nathan was following her and she saw–

She stopped dead in her tracks. There were footsteps and no one there. She looked around in a panic and searched the area. "Hello?"

Deleted user

Daniel reacts quite suddenly to Anna. He stops in his tracks to prevent her from feeling him, and instinctively raises his hands.

As he does so, his invisibility slips. "Oh, shit."

But it's too late: she'd seen him. He waves awkwardly. "H-hello!"

Deleted user

"I'm Daniel." he stutters.

"And I'm dead." he adds.

@emilyevewrites group

Anna's eyes widened as her hand passed right through his face. She stumbled back in shock and confusion. "Have you been… following me?" She blinked her eyes and gasped. "You're the reason that Nathan thinks I can move things with my mind, aren't you?! I might lose my job because of you. I hope you're happy!"

Deleted user

"I've been haunting that office since before you got there. And I've seen what you deal with on a regular basis." Daniel mutters.

"Hey, I was trying to keep you from getting hurt!" he snaps. "If you lose your job, that's the office's problem. You're amazing at what you do, anywyas. I doubt they'll get rid of you."

@emilyevewrites group

Anna looked away. There were been clients she'd had that had been… less than ideal to have dealt with. Still, through it all, she hadn't quit her job. Nathan relied heavily on her. She was one of the best attorneys at her practice.

"You've been haunting my office?" she asked skeptically. "You haven't been doing a very good job then, I didn't even know you were there. But… thank you." Anna offered a grateful smile.
