@Mr.Misfit

Dylan raised his hands, "My apologies. If it makes you feel any better, I woke up forgetting I was here. I opened my eyes and wondered what happened to my ceiling."

Realizing he was going to become a bit of a disruption if he stuck around any longer, Dylan tried to think of an excuse to get out and be productive. He was about to suggest that he go scout around when what Aspect had said caught up to him, and he did a double-take, "Hang on, not anymore? Why not anymore?"

Avery chuckled a little and looked at her paws.

“I wasn’t born with my powers, I woke up with then after an accident one day. At the time, I had no idea what had happened to me. I continued to wake up as a cat for a few days, and then off and on as I figured out how to control it better,” she explained, her whiskers twitching amusedly as she looked back up at Shadow. “I’ve learbed how to control it now, so I don’t wake up like this anymore.”

@Mr.Misfit

"Yeesh, that's gotta be tough," Dylan said, unable to meet Aspect's feline eyes. He had suffered with his own powers for as long as he could remember. Using them had felt so natural to him, like moving a muscle. No thought, for the most part. With the exceptions of precision and self-control, he could easily use and control his powers.

Dylan shook his head in an attempt to clear it, then looked back at her, "Sorry, I was just thinking. I don't know this city. It might be worth it for me to familiarize myself now, rather than later. Maybe after we get ourselves fed…"

(It’s cool! Reminds me of Dylan and his powers, tbh. It’s a little hard to make out when it’s on a small screen, but that’s fine.)

Avery nodded slowly, her ears flicking as she listened to random sounds around the building. “Yeah, that sounds good. I could show you around if you’d like,” she offered, her head tilting to the side. “And you can have whatever you find in the fridge or the cupboards. We have cereal, eggs, maybe some bacon…”

@Mr.Misfit

"You had me at bacon," Dylan interrupted, "It'd be amazing to get a decent breakfast. I'm still eating like a college student. Which, not gonna lie, I may or may not be, but what's that gonna tell ya?" He smiled outwardly, but inwardly he mentally kicked himself. For what, he couldn't quite place. He was just being himself, wasn't he?

Clearing his throat, Dylan raised his shadowed hands to open the fridge and freezer, grabbing the food and tools. "While I'm doin' that, you should probably grab your mask. I doubt you want to lap up your cereal from a bowl, and I'm not even gonna suggest cat food. Ugh… not good stuff."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Avery’s nose twitched amusedly at his statement about cat food, and she purred a slight laugh.

“Oh, please tell you that’s not from personal experience,” she said, jumping down from the counter and starting toward the hallway.

@Mr.Misfit

Dylan scoffed, "Don't judge. Boy Scouts are weird."

The programs for making eggs and bacon were already ingrained in Dylan's memory, so it only took a moment to apply them before he let them do themselves. He'd had plenty of time to perfect it, too. Aspect emerged to find Dylan tapping on his phone just outside the kitchen. A cup of coffee was being prepared as well.

Avery had slipped into her room, shifted, then quickly closed the door behind herself. After picking her mask up from the nightstand, she slid it on, making sure that it covered the right spots. A quick look in her bathroom mirror made sure of it, and she stepped back out.

When she saw Shadow cooking, she raised her eyebrows at the sight. He wasn’t even touching the pan, yet it moved… What had he said his powers were again?

“I see you found everything. Good,” she greeted him as she stepped into the kitchen. She kept an eye on the pan as she picked her bowl up from the counter and gave the soggy cereal a small frown. With a shrug, she leaned against the counter, the bowl still in her hands as she took a spoonful of the slightly wet cereal into her mouth.

@Mr.Misfit

(He's got shadow hands on the pots and pans. It isn't telekinesis, thankfully.)

Dylan nodded, concentrating the seconds counting down in his head.

25, 24, 23, 22…

He saw Aspect take a bite of her cereal, which by now was probably soggy. Walking over to the stove, he took hold of the pan from his shadowed duplicate hands, finished cooking the eggs and bacon, and used his copies to make a plate for Aspect. Dylan took hold of the plate himself and offered it to her, "Here. You're probably better off in the long run getting something decent to eat."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Lol. I mean, yeah, I knew that, but Avery did notice that he himself wasn’t touching them. Like, his own hands.)

Avery blinked and raised her eyebrows at him. She chuckled softly, shaking her head as she waved him away.

“No, no. You made it, you get to eat it. I can make myself something when I’m done with this,” she insisted, glancing down and noticing that she only had a bite left. “Honestly. I should be the one making you something, anyway. That’s good hospitality. And here you are cooking for yourself.”

@Mr.Misfit

"I insist," said Dylan, holding out the plate, "I accidently left the program at more eggs and bacon then usual, so there's extras for me on the stove anyway. Take it."

That last part was a lie, but he could easily make it not so. Dylan was more worried about her, now, than him. This was the least he could do.

@Mr.Misfit

(Sigh, Two more days, and then no more 3 day hyetas', I promise. Robotics has been beating me senseless, but we're almost done!)

Dylan nodded and returned to the kitchen, where his cloned hands were already at work with another few eggs and bacon strips. He finished up and went to join Aspect.

"Y'know, I'm still confused about one thing, and I was kinda hoping you could explain. What would bring Red Falcon all the way out to my town?"

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(Lol. It’s fine, don’t worry about it! I was actually out of town this weekend, anyway.)

Avery stopped for a moment to think about that. Why would she go all the way over there…?

“Well… I have a theory, but there’s no way to test it without a lot of potential danger;” she started slowly. “There’s a group of people who call themselves the ALPHA Team. They recruit teens and adults who they think would make good additions to their team, and they train them to think like they do. They want nothing more than to wipe out the supers, from what I’ve noticed. And they’ll do anything in order to do so… Including killing the hero’s family if they found them or have an idea of who they are. I think that Red Falcon is a part of that team, and they must have sent her there for some reason…”

@Mr.Misfit

Mulling over that thought for a minute, Dylan closed his eyes and pictured it. He'd never heard of ALPHA, but the concept rang a bell. There HAD been a few minor riots over the slow-rising heroes here in the States, but nothing to the degree of murders. Wings was always attempting to dig up dirt of some kind…. maybe as some special informant…

If that was the case, though, Would ALPHA really want her, seeing as how she's pretty much a super of her own?

Dylan waived that away as an overthought. If ALPHA was stalking him or Aspect, then it sounded like they were in for the long haul, and they needed to attract as much attention as possible to keep ALPHA solely focused on them.

Then Dylan, being Dylan, had one last idea and honed in on it. He took a bite of his bacon and leaned back, "Well, they could be after upstarts. Try and put them down, cull the reinforcements. Or maybe looking to hire. I'm not exactly official in the eyes of the law, and I almost guarentee that Wings is involved in it. Too nosy not to be."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(In the other RP? Sure. Lol.
Also, small thing that I have to point out: it’s actually called “The ALPHA Team” not just ALPHA. Sorry.)

Avery hummed, finishing a bite of her food. “That could be… I’m not really sure if they’re involved in any legal stuff, though. I think they’re an independent group, not affiliated with anything else. Except… I think my cousin ran into a similar team called Omega Point… But that’s not important right now, I guess. They’re way over in Starlace City.”

@Mr.Misfit

"Ok. I'll just assume that we have the ALPHA Team to deal with, then. Wings and Red Falcon are probably both there. Maybe." Dylan shrugged his shoulders and took a bite of his food.
