Neo shook his head again. “Do you have any idea what I do all day?”
Neo shook his head again. “Do you have any idea what I do all day?”
"How would I? Anyways, i'm just saying, try, if your schedule allows it."
“My schedule doesn’t allow me. That’s my point.”
"Well it should. That's my point." She smiled. "But I have to go see Death apparently so I'll see you later?"
Neo nodded. “See you. Death should be in his room.”
"Bye then." She waved a bit, still smiling, and left the room, closing the door behind her and walking to Life's office, knocking.
Life opened the door not soon after she knocked.
“Ah, there you are. Death’s waiting in his room.” He stepped out of her way.
She nodded thanks and stepped into Death's office. "You wanted to see me?"
Death was sitting in a chair, fiddling with an over complicated-looking rubix cube. He looked up when she entered.
“Yes, I did. Sit down.”
“Okay then.” She sat down, her hands shifting uncomfortably in her lap.
Death set his cube of smartiness down and glanced at her, though his eyes were hidden.
“Why do you hate me so much, North?”
Her breath quickened slightly but she kept the same look on her face. “I don’t hate you that much..” She muttered.
Death tilted his head. “You lie.”
“I think I would know if I was lying.” She snapped, immediately realizing what she said and looking down. “Sorry..”
Death stayed calmly indifferent. “Clearly you lie to yourself, too.”
“W-what do you want?”
Death titled his head. “I’ve already asked what I want. I haven’t received a good answer, either.”
“I don’t know the answer…I’ve never liked you…”
Death tilted his head the other way. “There has to be a clearer answer. I haven’t done anything to you.”
“Yeah you haven’t, but the idea of death has. You’re a good person, nice enough.”
“But I am the God of Death. I do not control death, but I do carry out the soul-returning processes. I think it is unwise to hate me for my job.”
“I just said I didn’t hate you.”
“It’s quite clear you do,” Death said with a slight, sad grin.
“I’m still getting used to you.”
“You’re used to the other Gods. You already like Life.”
“Just becuase I know other people doesn’t mean I have to be used to all of them immediately.”
Death sighed. “That is not a valid answer, North.”
"Well I don't know what to say!" She responded.
“There’s no reason to lie, if you have no response,” Death adviced softly.
"I wasn't lying." She said, slightly irritated.
