Skye smirked, "I figured we'd take the fast way" he said, summoning a whisp of blue and silver aura.

"Mkay, just don't screw up?" Alaric laughed nervously, then stepped forward. He'd never done this before and hoped he didn't get motion sickness.
(would it be funny if they got yeeted into the ocean?)

Skye laughed, "I never screw up" he said confidently, swirling it so it made a portal. Then taking Alaric's hand he led him up to the portal pulling him through.

Alaric's first instinct was to recoil at Skye's hand in his, but the more rational part of him said it was okay, and that he trusted him. His trust for Skye was a dangerous, disquieting thing, but he thought perhaps he liked it.

Skye led him through the portal and out into a narrow alley, you could hear water splashing as Skye led Alaric out onto the street and down a few blocks, over to a narrow strip of beach. "This good enough?" he asked.

Alaric breathed in the seawater and sighed peacefully, "Yeah." He let go of Skye's hand and buried his own in his jacket pockets. Rick felt awfully strange. "Uh, the water should be nice."

"Yeah, you still wanna go in?" he asked.

"Yeah. Definitely." He chose a log to put his clothes and shoes on, then dived into the water. Alaric laughed again, a rarity,
"I think I squashed a fish!"

Skye laughed, pulling his hoodie off and then his shoes and socks. Revealing a well toned torso he rolled up his pants and dove in after Alaric. "Whoo!" he whooped, paddling out. "This is the life!"

"See?!" Alaric laughed again, "I told you you had a life!" He paddled out until the water covered his shoulders, letting the cool water relax his muscles.
"Out here…" He said, with me, "Our dads can't hurt us."

The smile faded off of Skye's face. But he didn't say anything, floating on his back instead. "Yeah… just wait till my dad tells me to shift back into wolf form…" he said grimly.

"Well, just wait till our dads figure out we're talking and that you're on our side." Alaric sighed and tilted his head back, wetting his hair, "God, I can't even imagine."

Skye tensed. "We can't…. I can't let them find out." his voice held a note of fear. "My dad might just confine me to the house again. And take my voice…"

"The hell you talkin' bout?" Alaric frowned in confusion, "Your voice? He can't do that."

"yeah he can" said Skye sadly. "I told you, he has my wolf amulet. As long as he has it I have to obey every commend he gives, and I can't do anything to resist. He could command me to be silent, and I'd have to obey till he lifted the command."

"Even if he was," Alaric inhaled the salty air, "If he was dead?"

"The enchantement would be lifted if someone gave me my amulet back." said Skye. "I'd steal it back myself, but one of the commands I'm under is not to touch it."

Alaric stared at him, "And you're not wanting to kill him?" He deadpanned, though surprised himself with what he'd siad.

"Believe it or not I already tried that." said Skye. "Now I can't. Again, he's commanded me not to try." he said, "I can't even leave the city…"

Alaric was met with a small feeling of respect towards Skye; he'd gone against Alarez Junebug and had the guts to try and kill him. For Alaric, when he'd tried, it hadn't ended so well. As much as he wanted to believe Skye actually thought he was interesting, he couldn't help but wonder if this was all just a way to set him free. Alaric tried to shake the thought out of his head and came to a consensus with himself.
"Skye?" He said without the slightest bit of emotion, "I'll kill him if that's what you need."

Skye twisted and turned to face him, alarm in his eyes. "Don't…. he'll just use me to protect himself… and there's no way you can fight me in wolf form…" he sighed. "You're the first friend I've had in ages… I can't just lose you that easily…"

Alaric turned to stare at him, brows furrowed in annoyance. He internally considered himself an expert on self-preservation…minus getting his medication.
Alaric pointed to his own face, "I'm replaceable." He said firmly, "His control over you is going to drive you crazy."

"At least I know he won't kill me, and I'll have some freedom as long as I don't cross him.." said Skye. "I can't lose the only friend I have…. and… and that alone makes you irreplaceable…"

Alaric knew he was being rude, but he was really tired, and angry, and overwhelmed.
