She shook her head, looking over at him, "No, stay as long as you'd like." In all honesty, she didn't want him to leave, though she wasn't sure why exactly she wanted him to stay. Something in her gut told her to keep him around though.

"I ate a few hours ago, so I'm not terribly hungry, but if you're offering I'm not going to refuse," She replied with a small nod, knowing he needed the food more than she did.

"Which one do you prefer more?" Selina asked, head cocked to the side slightly in question. She was going to choose whatever one he didn't like, she was polite like that, and used to it from living in the pack.

Frankie shrugged. He may have been camping solo but he had packed enough food to share. ”It doesn't matter to me. I’ve got plenty to make enough of either. Though personally, it never feels like a camping trip without having kebobs at least once.” he admitted.

Frankie nodded with a smile and opened the cooler, taking out a few bags of food and four skewers. One bag had a mix of vegetables while another had cubes of meat and the final one had sliced onions. ”Is there anything you don't want on yours?” he asked, letting her look at the options.

@gracehustle

Selina looked over the options and shook her head, "Not that I can see. Everything on it sounds good." Just to give herself something to do, she stood up and started to walk around the camp. Most of the time she wasn't used to staying in her human form this long without moving at all, so that was what she was going to do. Move around.

Frankie nodded with his usual smile and began spearing the slices of food on the skewers in alternating patterns then putting them over the fire on the travel grill he brought with him since he didn't think he was going to use the ones on the fire pits that the campsites provided. ”They shouldn't take too long to cook.” he told her as he occasionally turned the food using a pair of tongs.

@gracehustle

"Alright, just tell me when they're done," She replied, glancing at him as she continued to walk around. In all honesty, she was very surprised he hadn't asked a ton of questions, but who knew, maybe he would ask more soon.

He nodded, keeping a close eye on the food. He wanted these to be the best kabobs he ever made. He really wanted her to like them. ”So… uh… I know this is probably a dumb question but; what’s it like? Being a werewolf, I mean.” he asked awkwardly after a long minute of silence between them.

@gracehustle

Selina didn't stop walking as she heard him speak again, shrugging in response to his question. "It's…difficult, and there are definitely times I wish I was purely human, but I enjoy it. What is it like being human?"

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Frankie chuckled. ”It’s not easy, that's for sure. There's always another person's expectation you have to meet. Sometimes it feels like you can't live just for yourself or your family.” he ended with a sigh. ”Sorry. I don't mean to sound depressing about it. There are some good points but they're often overshadowed by everything else.”

@gracehustle

"No, I understand that portion of being a human," She replied, shrugging and looking at the ground, "Maybe that's something we have in common. expectations we're used to living up to."

”You mean you being the Beta? I imagine that there's a lot of pressure with that position.” Frankie nodded thoughtfully as he removed the kebobs from the fire. ”They're done.” he smiled holding one out to her. ”Try one. They're really good.”

@gracehustle

Selina nodded, offering him a small smile and taking the kebob, "There is a lot of pressure, but not as much as there is being an Alpha." She waited a few seconds to let the kebob cool down before gingerly starting to eat it.

@gracehustle

"Leading a pack is very tough and stressful," She replied, eating more of the kebob before nodding, "These taste absolutely amazing, Frankie."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

Frankie practically glowed at her compliment. ”I’m glad you like it.” he smiled, refraining from saying ’I told you so.’ As he continued to eat his, he looked up at stars. You could actually see a band of the Milky Way above them. His smile turned a little nostalgic for the beauty of it all.

@gracehustle

By now it was close to pitch black out, with the moon being the only source of light besides the stars. Selina finished off her kebob and smiled slightly looking up at the sky as well, "Tonight is really beautiful."

@FanfictionFanatic-The-Elder group

”Yeah.” Frankie sighed happily, laying back on the grass. ”I can never get over how many stars there are.” he said with a note of remorse. ”All the lights in the city block them out so all you see is dark blue sky and the moon.”

@gracehustle

She frowned, cocking her head to the side as she looked over at him, "Are there that many lights in the city? So many that you can't even see a beautiful site like this?" Carefully, she laid her kebob stick near the fire and sat down near but not right next to him.

Frankie shrugged and picked up his second kebob. ”It really depends on the size of the city but yeah, that's how it is back home.” he sighed before pointing out the last kebob. ”There’s another one if you want it.”

@gracehustle

Selina nodded and grabbed the last kebob, starting to eat it again, "Wow…I have to say, honestly, that sounds absolutely terrible. People in the cities have grown used to not seeing the stars?"
