"You won't," He replied, pulling her close to his chest before summoning a gust of window to take them out the nearest window and into the sky.

Kallista closed her eyes in fear at first, having never been this high off the ground without something beneath her. When it seemed safe, she opened her eyes.

They were high up in the night sky and Rhys had his arms wrapped around her. He made sure to take them far away from the castle.

She looked up at him. "Where are you taking me?" She asked.

"Anywhere. I told you I was taking you away from there and I am."

"That's…not really the answer I was looking for…" She said softly.

Rhys sighed through he nose and slowly brought them down to the ground, gently placing Kallista down on the ground while he hovered in the air.

She stepped lightly onto the ground, looking at her surroundings before looking at Rhys. "Where are we?" She asked.

Rhys shrugged, perching on a low tree branch, "A little ways out, there's a small village not near here."

"Oh," Kallista said. "Sorry, I don't really know any of the neighbouring areas. I didn't get out of the castle very often."

Rhys hummed softly, swinging his legs back and forth, "A queen who has never left her castle until now… interesting."

"I've only been Queen for a few days," She replied. "And I rarely ever left my own room."

"A princess who never left her room turned Queen who ran away from her kingdom…" He repeated, looking down at his legs, "All right then."

"Would you stop judging me?" Kallista glared at him. "It's not my fault that I didn't want to hurt my sister." She sighed.

He held up his hands in defense, "I wasn't judging. And it's good you didn't want to hurt your sister, but… couldn't there have been another way to go about it?"

"It wasn't really my choice to be locked in a room for the majority of my life," She sighed. "My parents made me. For the good of the kingdom, I guess."

"It's not good to be locked away. Even if you or others think it;s for the better, it never is."

"I didn't have much choice," She sighed. "When you're a princess…well, you don't get to make a lot of decisions. And if Elina was a boy, she'd be King instead of me."

He just shrugged in return, "You could have protested."

"No, I couldn't have. Seen and not heard, remember? And like I said, princesses don't get to make decisions."

"Well… you're Queen now so you can do what you want in the name of your kingdom and no one can stop you."

She was quiet. "But what if I don't want to be the Queen?" She asked softly, almost inaudible.

"Then… then you need to make that clear to everyone, especially your sister."

"How?!" Kallista cried out. "Everyone thinks I'm a monster! I sent spikes out at everyone and I'm scared!"

Rhys hopped down from the tea and took her hands in his, "Then you control your powers, learn to not fear yourself and then show them you're not a monster."

"It's not that easy," She said, looking away, unable to meet his eyes. "You don't know how hard it is."

"Then tell me, help me learn how hard it is and let me help."

She pulled her hands from Rhys', curling into a ball. "When I was a kid, it was all fine. Even though the kingdom didn't know about my magic, my family did. Elina loved it. She would drag me from bed each night and we play in the snow that I created. And one night…I struck her."

"What happened after that?" He asked quietly, sitting not too far away form her.

"Well…Our parents rushed us to a place in the woods, and these rock trolls helped her. Apparently the elder changed her memories from us playing with my magic to us simply playing in the snow. After that, I couldn't really control my powers. I was scared. I locked myself away."
