They were rivals. Everyone knew. They were always the two most talented dancers. At each competition, they seemed to be there, ripping at each others throats. If they hadn't been bitter rivals, they may have been able to be friends.
A new school year starts. One of them starts at the school the other goes to. They find out a few days before start of term, but having no control over that, they decide individually to just ignore the other. And then they were put into the same dorm.
Being stuck in the same room, they have no choice but to get along. Maybe overtime it will blossom into something more than friendship.

Connor has always been there for her, and she is kinda protective of him. But she's glad that her little gay bff chose the right dude. Otherwise it wouldn't have ended well.
