You basically know the plot. Enemies to lovers. (In a lot more steps, but you get the point.)

RULES
Must be of the age to consent in your state. No exceptions. (For example: in Kansas, the legal age of consent is 16.) This is to protect myself from lawsuits.

No sexual abuse themes, self harm themes, domestic abuse themes, etc. Unless it's a character's background, I want none of that here.

Cursing is fine. Don't go overboard though.

Any smut or shit like that goes to PMs. (To protect our younger users.)

That's it!

(Wave. I’m not quite sure if I’ll join this or not, but I’m curious. So, would this be fantasy, sci-fi, etc? Also, basic setting, and what sort of characters are you thinking?)
(You probably already know what I usually do/have, lol, so yeah. But, I figured I’d ask anyway)

Deleted user

(Modern high fantasy, I suppose. Mainly since most of my characters seem to fall under high fantasy anyways)

Deleted user

("What sort" they ask! I can't, for the life of me, figure out what you mean lmao!)

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

(Lmao! Sorry about that. Um… what type of character are you looking for? Like superhero/supervillain [something I don’t necessarily have… grey area honestly]? Or rivals? Nemeses? I guess, what sort of ‘enemies’ are they?)

Deleted user

(Better explanation, lol. Basically, considering the genre, archnemesies. Maybe not the bad guys, definitely not the good guys, very distinctly different personalities, morals (to an extent), goals.)

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

(Ah, so mostly morally-ambiguous enemies. Thumbs-up. 90% of my characters are morally ambiguous, so that works out, lmao! Hmm… why are they enemies? Do they just hate each other? Was there something personal that happened in their pasts?)
(Or would it just be simpler to pick a character and figure it out from there, lol?)

Deleted user

(I grin I suppose we can go with "Random bullshit! Go!")

Deleted user

(I shrug It's too early in the morning for that. We'll figure out who's who as we go. Sound like a plan? {It shouldn't, because it's not a plan XD})

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

(Lol, alright. Well, I already have a character in mind. And, so I don’t forget [which I probably won’t, but still, lol], I’ll just say that his name is Jonathan. Unless, you want to be the male character… We’ll figure it out, lol)

Deleted user

(I, personally, don't care about the gender of the character I use. I can be male, female and everything in between. My character is Christina. Shall we get started?)

Deleted user

(Lol, nice to know. I nod Same. I'mma get the starting message up here soon, unless you are already.)

Deleted user

(Shrugs I'll start then.)

Christina sighs as she nurses he cup of coffee. Jesus, these humans reek. . .

Christina was sitting in the lobby of the hotel she was staying at, drinking a caramel latte and glaring at any human - or really anything - that came within 5 feet of her.

It also doesn't help that it's already 80 degrees out. she notes with distaste, fanning herself.

Despite the kitsune's light clothing - a tank top and shorts - she was still overheating.

And they all keep staring.

It didn't help that she was beautiful. Not conventional beauty. She had no makeup on; she was stunning without it. Dark, bronze skin, piercing violet eyes and floor length raven black hair. A face that had no lines, a softly curved body. You couldn't ignore her even if you wanted to.

She notices someone walk in and freezes, making a noise of utter disgust.

Him. she thinks, her body moving fluidly as she turns away.

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

(Ooh… evil grin. I like her already)

Jonathan sighed as he bent down to secure his bicycle on the curb. The wind was blowing a bit, which sent his long, blond hair into his face several times. That didn’t bother him too much, though. He stood after a moment, straightening his black tunic and checking his boots, then headed inside the hotel.

He hadn’t planned on going out, but apparently one of his newest tenants had been staying at the hotel and the youth needed help packing. It wasn’t ideal, considering that Jonathan disliked cars, but he had vowed to himself to watch over those he lorded over, and he never broke a vow.

The moment he stepped inside, Jonathan’s dark hazel eyes searched his surroundings for threats. He doubted any would be there, considering that, in his true form, his claws could cut a human’s throat with ease, but it was a habit of his after being in a war.

He quickly sighted a particular someone nearby, a woman that he despised despite all his efforts to not hate her. He knew her appearance, and her stench, well. She wasn’t human, nor was she reptilian like himself. Jonathan knew that without a doubt, but he didn’t know what she was. And, that was one of several things he couldn’t stand about her.

A deep breath and Jonathan was able to turn away from her without getting too riled up. He didn’t need the stress right now. He headed over to the receptionist, his lean, suntanned body towering above the counter. He spoke politely to the woman, but she was clearly intimidated. That didn’t faze him at all.

(Ooo, he seems fun. Sly chuckle I'm sure they'll have quite a bit of fun.)
(And, since we've got the first messages in, we can go to bed. G'night.)

(Lmao good morning!)

Christina reached out for one of the fashion magazines, attempting to ignore him, but his very presence made her blood boil.

It didn't help that even if it was just his scent of scales or his offensively perfect cultured voice around her. She knew it would seem hypocritical to mention these things, but she never chose her human form or her scent.

She couldn't ignore him. Slowly, she stood up. It was like watcing a flower bloom; her predatory grace lent its own elegance to her movements, and the curves of her body suggested the lines of a new flower.

She stalked her way to the elevator, calling it. She barely took note of the commotion behind her until she heard a gunshot. In a flash of color, she was standing in front of the one who fired the gun.

Female. she thought with disgust. Nevertheless, she put her abilities to good use.

"Hello, lady. May I help you?" Christina asked, unleashing a wave of Charm at the woman to get her to relax and start talking. As she did this, she took careful note of everything and everyone around her. With a jolt, she realizes he is behind her. She nearly loses control of her magic, but manages to regain control.

As the lady with the gun began relaxing and opening up to Christina, subtle tensing of muscles alerted Jonathan to her presence behind him. She sent a warning: Stay away.

It's not like she could help hating him. It had just always been like this: tense, and distrustful of each other. Then again, she just naturally didn't like people. Jonathan was just the least tolerable.

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

Jonathan still spoke to the receptionist, but he smelled the movements of everyone in the lobby, including that special someone. Toward the elevator she went, moving farther from him.

Jonathan jumped at the sound of the gunshot and whipped around to face the new threat. Inwardly, he scolded himself for being so stupid. He should’ve been paying attention to his surroundings, not her!

He watched Christina, his eyes narrowing as she enchanted the hostile woman. He crept forward, starting to circle the pair to get a better view of what was happening. His steps were silent, his movements flowing like that of a cat on the hunt.

Jonathan noticed Christina’s movements and message, but ignored them. Why should an apex predator listen to a foreign creature? He continued to slowly circle, now standing off to the side of Christina as he appraised the situation.

Unsurprisingly, the lobby seemed to be empty now after the gunshot. The receptionist hid behind the counter, fear radiating off of her. For now, that didn’t concern Jonathan. He was more worried about removing all the threats, and that meant the two women in front of him.

Christina senses his gaze on her, feels him start to move, and huffs.

She knows it won't take much for him to start slashing. It never does take much. She's aware that he's preparing to strike, but stays relaxed. If I show weakness, I know he'll pounce.

So she stays where she is, giving Jonathan no indicators of emotion or thought.

@Serpentess health_and_safety language

Jonathan heard her huff and snorted. She should know by now that he only listened to folks he respected. And she had yet to prove her worthiness of such respect.

After a moment, Jonathan noticed how Christina hid any signs of her next moves. He snorted again, rolling his eyes. She always thought he would lash out at any second. That only applied to defense. Jonathan only got offensive when necessary, and he rarely needed to in the human realm.

Turning his attention to the other woman, Jonathan sighed. He approached, his hand gently grabbing the woman’s, fingers deftly taking the gun from her. He inspected it, took the bullets out, then set the gun on the counter. He kept the bullets in his hand, just in case.

The whole time, he ignored Christina. If she attacked him, then he would lash out. Otherwise, she was just a severely annoying inconvenience.

“I apologize for all of this, madam. I don’t know why that woman was shooting, yet she should be done now,”he said to the shaking receptionist. The poor woman looked at him, then peeked over the counter, cautiously watching everything.

Christina huffs again as Jonathan goes about all this.

Control freak. she thinks contemptfuly. But he hides it well.

She whispers something to the girl, who walks over to the receptionist counter, finds a pair of scissors, and cuts off her own index finger. Crying in pain, she takes the finger and runs out onto the sidewalk.

Christina turns away and gets in the elevator, brushing by Jonathan, leaving an intoxicating scent of jasmine, lavender, cammomile, vanilla and a hint of pepper behind her.
