"I wanna go home big brother…"
"Yeah, I know. We'll find somewhere okay?"
"P-promise…?"
"… Yeah. Promise."

(Basically two children out on the streets after both of their parents died. They aren't actual siblings, but without anyone else, who's to say they aren't each other's family?)
(I was thinking this could be a cute but feels filled angst story where they get adopted eventually by some kind folks. When it comes down to that, we'll talk about what kind of couple/parent and who will play who)

The template will be really basic as we will allow the relationship to develop over time.

(Yesssss)
(Okay, I'll start)
Rei didn't know what to do or where to go. Her parents were always there to help her. But now what? The apartment was burning down, her mom and dad still inside. They told her that her family was gone. That they would be in a better place. That she should come with them.
The young girl took off running instead, not caring in what direction. She heard shouts behind her from the authorities saying, "Hey, wait!" and "Someone go after her!"
Hearing large pounding steps behind her, Rei darted around buildings, through the backstreets, hoping they would lose her. And… they did. Out of breath now, she sat next to a pile of discarded cardboard boxes and let all her emotions free. She cried.

"You're sitting on my box," Raven said, looking down at the crying kid. "Also," He started. "It's beginning to rain so I suggest finding somewhere to sleep for the night." He sat down next to the kid, she was new, that's for sure. He had been on the run and alone for a good three years, he knew when people where new in his area.

Rei blinked rapidly and rubbed at her eyes to look up at the other person. He was older, but a kid like her. She sniffled before moving off the box and apologising. She really had nowhere else to go, and didn't want to go with the scary officer people. She didn't want a new home, she wanted her parents.

"It's fine, there's enough room in the boxes for both of us, if you want to sleep in there." Raven said, propping up the box and revealing a pretty long tunnel of boxes leading to an empty garbage dispenser. He was pretty proud of it, it had taken him about three months to finish it.

The small girl sniffed again, looked up at the boy with wide eyes. "R-really…?" she asked, hesitant. It looked nice and dry inside, and surely the other had been out here for awhile. He could help her maybe. Something about the boy made her feel hopeful again. It was the main trait she took from her mother. The optimistic attitude.

"Sure, you can take the inside, you look like you've had a rough day," Raven says with a soft smile, he was already pretty quiet, his voice hoarse too. He opened the 'door' to the thing and waved a hand, gesturing for her to go inside. "Have you eaten?" He asked the girl.

Rei nodded her head. It was just an hour ago when she had eaten dinner. With her parents. Who were gone now. Crawling through the tunnel, she wondered if she would live in this alley the rest of her life. She would have someone to keep her company though. The small girl huddled in on herself, trying to guarantee the taller boy would have room too.

"Good, you get some sleep and I'll find some food for breakfast, I have a friend at the bakery that could hook us up with some slightly stale bread." Raven laughed, tossing her his large jacket to use as a blanket. "My name's Raven, if you wanted to know."

@Painted-Iris group

Rei barely caught the jacket in her small fists, pulling it over her shoulders. "Rei. My name is Rei," she said, giving Raven the brightest smile she could muster. Her young mind was still really shaken up. She tugged the jacket tighter around her, feeling a bit better with something warm. "You'll come back, won't you Raven…?" she asked, tears already welling up in her eyes again.

Deleted user

"Of course, you have my jacket after all." Raven said, giving a small, two-fingered salute as he stood up and started to walk. He had decided that he liked the small girl, he didn't really like younger kids, but something about her struck a chord in him, maybe it was because she looked a bit like his little brother did before the sickness took over his body.

(OMG RAVEN YOU PRECIOUS BOY)
As soon as Raven left, Rei snuggled up in the jacket, limbs already slightly chilled. The jacket didn't have the best scent to it anymore, likely not having been washed recently. And as any child would when their parents leave, she cried softly. Feeling weak, she did as she was told and fell asleep.

I'm so sorry, but can we put this on hold for a bit?//
