His lips twitched up into a slight smile but only for a second before it dropped again. He didn't really smile much.
His lips twitched up into a slight smile but only for a second before it dropped again. He didn't really smile much.
Arthur's eyes dropped back to the ground. "So…. you actually gonna try and sell me off?" he asked, his voice quiet.
"Nah, probably not. Someone like you could be useful." He shrugged.
Arthur frowned, but was visibly relieved at that.
"It's be like selling my own brother." He muttered under his breath. It was scary how much he looked like Jaxon.
Arthur gave him a confused look, "What….?"
"Nothing, nothing." He stared at the wall across from them. "It's nothing."
Arthur frowned, studying the other, "It didn't sound like nothing…"
"Don't worry about it." He instantly dismissed it. He hated confrontation.
Arthur frowned even more, his instincts saying that something was wrong, but he didn't say anything more.
"Anyway, who are you?" He finally looked over at Arthur again.
"My name's Arthur" he said quietly, "More or less a rogue, trying to figure out what to do with my life, and figure out who I am when you take away my family…"
"Interesting." He sighed quietly. "Ryder Collins. Kind of a big deal around here and not in a good way. I'm looking for my brother but I don't even know if he's still alive."
"Brother?" He asked, "I've got some connections in weird places… I could help you check them out?" Ge offered.
"He's been missing for years and he's good at staying hidden, it's doubtful anyone actually knows where he is."
"Bro. I'M the master at staying hidden." He said, "For starters, I technically have links in most of the assassin guilds, and the alchemists." He said, "Plus any shadow magic guild you can think of. If any people can find someone It's the assassins, or the alchemists…"
"If he wanted to be found, he would've been by now. So clearly he doesn't."
"What sort of guy is he?" Asked Arthur, "What are his hobbies? Who does he care about?"
"I don't know!" He snapped. "I haven't seen him since I was 9 and people change." Including the only ones you can trust.
Arthur hummed, "Core values rarely change that much…." he mused, a little concerned by the other's attitude.
"His do." He sighed. Jaxon had changed a couple of months before he disappeared and not in a good way. He wasn't the brother that he had looked up to.
Arthur gave him a sympathetic look, "Hey, there's at least gotta be a good reason. Right?"
He shook his head. "Doubtful. He changed and then a couple of months later, he was gone. He changed so he would harder to track."
"What do you mean by changed?"
"Just…changed." He shrugged. He couldn't really explain it.
Arthur hummed thoughtfully, but said nothing more.
He bit his lip, just thinking about Jaxon hurt.
Arthur watched him, frowning, he figured he'd brought up bad memories. But he didn't know how to fix it.
"It's whatever. It doesn't matter." He brushed the topic off, not wanting to think about it.
It *does matter….* thought Arthur, but he didn't say anything.
