She was still asleep, the long day had worn her out and she couldn't remember the last time she'd fallen asleep in someone's arms.
She was still asleep, the long day had worn her out and she couldn't remember the last time she'd fallen asleep in someone's arms.
Skye smiled, shifting her weight a little, using his magic to pull various blankets from around the room, creating a nest. Setting her down, careful not to wake her, he shifted, lying down next to her, her head in his fur.
She smiled a little, curling up tighter and cuddling into the blankets. It'd been a very long time since she'd had a good night's sleep.
Skye smiled, his head settling beside her.
(Oh.. I just thought of something… Skye used to have this friend back when he was a kid… I could have them turn up come morning and tease them.)
(Ooo, yes. Do that.)
She was so much more peaceful when she was asleep, finally relaxing despite how much she tried to when she was awake. She considered herself prettiest when she was asleep.
(Imma skip till morning then!)
Marco sighed, jogging along the rooftops. It had been high time for him to switch areas, lest the guards start harrassing him. Finally spotting the old attic he smiled, those had been good times.
(You do that! I'll wake her up when he gets there)
Marco lept over to the last rooftop, slipping open another entrance to his hideout. Slipping inside he set down the small bag of trinkets he'd had with him, before glancing over at the very large wolf in one corner. Quickly he whipped around to stare at the wolf, "Couldn't be…." he said, a grin coming to his face.
The light streaming into the room slowly woke her until her eyes fluttered open. She say slowly, stretched, and yawned. She wasn't completely awake so to say her reaction time was slow was an understatement.
Skye opened one eye, to find a lighter skinned, bulkier guy standing over him.
"Since when were you back in town?" Asked Marco curiously. "And since when do you have a girlfriend?"
"I can answer the second question for you and it's since yesterday." She chuckled softly. "I'm Crystal. And you are?"
"Marco, Marco Terez." He said with a formal bow. "'Tis an honor to meet you fair lady."
Skye groaned, shifting to punch Marco in the leg. "Musg you be like this?" He asked, unable to hide a grin.
She slapped Skye upside the head. "Maybe you should be taking notes on how to be a gentleman!" She laughed. "It's nice to meet you Marco."
"I came here so I didn't have to think about all the manners!" He protested, trying not to laugh.
Marco smirked, "Actually I'm worse then him on the manners part" he said.
"Also where the heck have you been all this time and why didn't you tell me you were in town??" Asked Marco, turning on Skye.
She rolled her eyes with a smile, relaxing back into the blankets, just listening to them talk.
"Been dealing with a lot of things" said Skye flatly. "And I've only been in town for a couple of days. Also i've got a particularly determined group of hunters on my trail to boot."
It didn't take long for her to get bored. She sighed quietly and headed to the door. "I'm heading for a bit, I'll be back, okay? I love you." She smiled before slipping out, heading into the morning sun and the town that she knew so well.
Skye watched her go, silently putting a mental tag on her.
Marco facepalmed, "wolf hunters?"
"Yes…"
She wandered the empty streets, weaving through alleys and back roads as she watched the town wake up. But something felt…off. Like someone was watching her. And lo and behold, 5 minutes later as she passed through another alley, a hand clamped around her mouth and another around her waist and dragged her off to Lord knows where.
Skye suddenly froze, closing his eyes for a second.
"What's up with you?" Asked Marco.
"Someone's blocking my telepathy… and trying to keep me from knowing…"
She, of course, fought against it until something or someone knocked her out. When she woke up, she was tied to a chair in a dark room. "Where is he?" A strict voice demanded. "What? Where is who? What are you talking about?" "Don't play dumb, where is he?" "Where is who??" "Skye! Where is he?" Then it clicked. Hunters. "I don't know."
Then it dawned on him, "Oh no…." he bolted for the door, mentally searching for Crystal.
"What the heck is up with you?" Asked Marco, following him.
"Hunters." Said Skye, "They just kidnapped Crystal…"
"Liar!" There was a second of silence before there was a sound again. And a feeling too. A familiar one. The oh so familiar feeling of someone slapping her across the face. "Where is he?" "I told you, I don't know!" Her cheek stung like hell but she ignored it. "You'll tell us eventually." "Bite me."
Skye swore, using colorful language by anyone's policy as he dashed off down the rooftops.
Marco sprinted after him, "do you even have a clue where you're going?!"
"You're a loyal one, aren't you? Such a shame you're loyal to the wrong person." She bit back her answer, knowing it's what he wanted. "Besides, if you won't tell us, maybe you don't actually know. Which means you're useless to us. So you'll be executed. The town will be so happy that the Duke's reign is finally over." Her eyes widened but she didn't say a word.
"I have one idea!" Yelled Skye, picking up the pace.
"I'll ask again. Where is he?" "And I'll tell you again, I don't know. I don't even know who you're talking about." "Lies! You were just with him yesterday!" "I was with a lot of people yesterday!"
Marco stayed silent as he ran after Skye, just barely able to keep up.
Smye launched down onto the streets, mentally looking for a blank spot in the city, the one that always warned him.
The person groaned. "Guess we'll have to do this the hard way." The sudden feeling of a cold sharpness against her throat made her shiver. "Tell us where he is and maybe we won't slit your throat."
Skye suddenly found it, mentally attacking the source.
Marco felt the mental surge of power and guess what was happening.
(This would cause one if the guards to freak out in pain.)
