Darius let out a soft moan.
"I just- I'm just gonna stay here for a bit…" the man didn't try to open his eyes for a moment, feeling the plaster he'd just broke through settling onto his cheeks and eyelashes.
"…Shit, this is not going to look good to my landlord, is it?" The man finally opened his eyes some, beginning to carefully pull his head out of the wall.
Mara froze when she felt as well as heard the voice. It had never been that close before… She hesitantly took a few steps towards the sound when a bright light started filtering into her house, temporarily blinding her.
Darius slowly lifted his head out of the wall, shaking it some. Plaster fell out of his hair and onto his shoulders, eliciting a coughing fit from him.
"Now, what's the damage…" The man turned, looking to the hole he'd made in the wall.
Mara was still partly blind from the amount of light she was now exposed to. Normally, it wouldn't bother her so much but she was very unprepared for it right now. She couldn't stop a sneeze followed by several coughs when the dust floated around her small form practically getting coated in the stuff.
Darius froze for a moment before he ever saw anything. Coughing, and a sneeze? Wha..? That's when his eyes fell on the woman in his wall.
"What the fu-" The man scrambled back some, ending up hitting his poor head once again, this time on a coffee table.

Mara had just managed to get the dust out of her eyes when she heard the exclamation and the second thud, freezing again. Slowly, she looked up and saw exactly what had happened to her home. Her eyes widened when she looked out into the oversized living room and noticed the large eyes staring at her.
Darius raised one hand to rub the sore spot on his head, unable to keep from staring.
"U-um…" The man was shocked, to say the least. This was the kind of thing that one only heard about in children's stories.
"H-Hi?"

Mara finally managed to take a few steps towards the back of her house. She exactly couldn't run anywhere since this was her home, normally the safest place there was for her. Her breathing was shaky when she realized that he had actually spoken to her. Maybe hitting his head twice had done something to him. “H-hi…” she stammered softly back.
"S-So, u-m…" Darius looked around once. He couldn't help but think the repeated head injuries had led to some form of trauma.
"Sorry about the wall..?"
Mara nodded, still a bit shaken by this whole situation. “I-it’s o-ok.” she answered unsure what else she could say. “What… What happened?” she asked, wondering why he had busted a huge hole in the wall.
"Um…" Darius looked down at the papers and book scattered on the ground.
"I dropped my work, and I stumbled back and hit the wall…" The man, after the initial shock, was surprisingly calm… It'd probably wear off, though.
“Oh…” she nodded, understanding how that could have happened. “You… You must have a strong skull…” Mara chuckled nervously as the playful response came out. She still hadn't moved from the far side of her home, knowing that he could move faster than she could run despite his huge size.
"Yeah, I guess so." Darius chuckled softly, still rubbing the latest spot he'd hit himself.
"Ah… are you okay?" The man sat up some, folding his legs under himself.
Mara was surprised that he laughed at her comment but managed to crack a small smile at him. “I… I’m alright. Just a bit shaken.” she admitted since she wasn't hurt… though there were a few things that she would need to repair or replace now.
Darius let out a breath.
"That's good, at least. Um… I'm Darius, it's nice to meet you, I suppose. Can I… can I ask exactly what's happening right now? Because, I, I have no idea."
“I’m Mara.” she said, finally starting to relax a little. Though she raised a brow at the question. “Umm… When you fell and broke the wall, you broke into my home.” she explained.
"Ah… Right, okay then. Total sense…" Darius shook his head for a moment. No, nothing had changed.
"Well, I really am sorry about that. Is… there something I could do to make up for it?"
“Umm… No. Not really.” Mara answered, shaking her head. Obviously, the wall would have to be fixed at some point but considering the state they were both in, she felt it could wait until they were more clear-headed.
"Okay then…" Darius looked up as an awkward silence settled on himself.
"So… um… what now?" They couldn't just walk away and act like this never happened, could they?
“I… I don't know. This has never happened to me before.” she confessed, nerves starting to resurface. It would be just about impossible for her to go about her life normally as long as that hole was there. “Maybe we should… Well, first are you alright?” she asked.
"Uh- oh, yeah, I'm fine," Darius said. He lowered his hand to his lap, nodding some.
"Just a bit sore. And- yeah, I don't think this has ever happened to me either." The man offered a small chuckle and smile, looking down before back up at the woman in his wall.
Mara laughed a little. “Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. Actually, I wouldn't even be surprised if this was the first conversation between…” she gestured between Darius and herself, giving a general reference to their differing heights.
"I wouldn't, either," Darius agreed. "Though, there's still the high probability it's happened to others before, even if just a few." Darius couldn't help but think of how much more impossible it would be for this to have never happened, assuming this woman hadn't been shrunk down and had just been born like this.
