Devon’s gaze shot back to Sebastian. “W-what? No, no. You— You don’t have to do that,” she stuttered, blinking.

(Hey, Emi has an RP that we only need one more person for, and she asked us to advertise. I was wondering seeing if you might be interested?)

@blue_topaz

(It sounds cool, what’s the topic?)

He offered her a smile, surprised when he didn’t have to force it. “I insist, really,” he told her, scratching at the nape of his neck.

Sebastian didn’t know why he was doing this, but he was in the unusual mood to do something nice for a stranger, so that’s what he did.

(Um… It’s really detailed. Lol. You’d just have to read it to understand… It’s got a cool font for the title.)

Devon glanced at the clock, chewing on her lip as she read the time. She could go on break at any moment, now, if she really wanted to…

“Okay… Um, sure… Thanks,” she said, returning his smile with her own small one.

@blue_topaz

(What’s it called? Is it in limited or wildcard rping?)

Sebastian visibly relaxed when he saw Devon’s smile, assured that he hadn’t made her uncomfortable. “No problem,” he returned, subconsciously rubbing at the bleeding cut on his cheek.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

(It’s in limited. “Join this very in-depth thing!”)

Devon finished his drink and handed it to him before she started on her own. Noticing the cut on his cheek, she frowned slightly. “Do you, uh, want a bandage for that?”

@blue_topaz

(I’ll go take a look, give me a sec!)

Sebastian stepped out of line, living to the end of the counter so that he wasn’t blocking anyone. He pulled his fingers away from his cheek, frowning slightly at the droplets of blood that now covered them. “It’s fine, but thank you,” he said, not particularly caring about his injuries.

@blue_topaz

“No, it’s fine, don’t worry about it,” he insisted self-consciously, grabbing a paper towel and wiping the blood off his fingers. He tried to do the same with his cheek, but ended up smearing it without noticing instead. “Thanks for the drink.”

@blue_topaz

Sebastian hesitated, fingers tightening around his mug for a second. He was…. reluctant to accept help, as usual, but especially now when it was from an almost-stranger. He glanced away, indecision flickering in his eyes for a moment before he realized that she wasn't going to give him.
"Okay," he relented, raising the mug to his lips. "Thank you."

@blue_topaz

He took a sip of the mocha, smiling a little as the pleasant taste bloomed on his tongue. But, following her into the back, he felt a sudden nervousness, an instinctual distrust of… well, everything. Sebastian made sure each of his steps was laced with confidence, as if nothing was wrong, not wanting to alarm Devon.

Devon led Sebastian down a short hallway and into a smallish room. A wood table sat in the middle of the room, cupboards and cabinets lined the walls, and a mini fridge sat in one corner. Walking over to a cabinet by a sink, Devon opened it and pulled out a first aid kit.

“Do you want to sit down? Or would you prefer to stand?” she asked, glancing up at him.

@blue_topaz

It's just a tiny cut, Sebastian wanted to protest, but he bit his tongue before the words could come out and offend Devon. "I can stand, if it's easier for you," he replied, eyes darting around the room, "Or I could sit."

@Imperfect_Autumn group

Devon looked up at him for a moment as she thought about how she’d have to hold her arm up for a while if he stood.

“Why don’t you sit? That way I don’t have to reach up so high,” she suggested, nodding toward a tan, leather couch against one wall.

@blue_topaz

Sebastian nodded, following her instructions and sitting down carefully on the couch.
"You know, you don't have to do this," he told her, suddenly grateful for the jacket that hid the cuts on the rest of his body.

Devon shook her head and wordlessly pulled supplies out of the kit. She hated seeing people hurting, so she tried to help them whenever she could. It was just he way she was, even before…

She sighed and shook her head, looking back up at Sebastian. “This might sting a little,” she said, reaching over with a disinfectant wipe to clean the cut.

@blue_topaz

Sebastian flinched, but not because of the sting that settled into his sting. More because of the fact that someone was touching him, coming into contact with his face, and an almost-stranger at that. He stayed silent, keeping his body perfectly still.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“Sorry,” Devon murmured when she saw him flinch.

She gently wiped the cut clean, chewing on her lip in concentration as she did so. When she was finished, she grabbed Neosporin and a q-tip from the kit and dabbed a little onto the wound before covering it with a bandage.

“Okay. You should be good, now,” she said quietly, moving to put the first aid kit away.

@blue_topaz

Sebastian gingerly raised his fingers to his cheek, prodding the bandage gently. He wasn't used to having one on, he usually left cuts be, even deep ones, There was just something about patching himself up that didn't quite sit with him well. "Thanks."

@blue_topaz

Sebastian gave her an eloquent, one-shouldered shrug, his discomfort of being in an unfamiliar place setting in. "You're welcome, it wasn't a problem," he replied, fidgeting with the edge of his jacket sleeve.

@Imperfect_Autumn group

“Oh. You can, uh, head out if you want… I’m just going to, um, be cleaning things up a bit in here… Sorry…” Devon said, stumbling over her words again as she noticed his discomfort.

@blue_topaz

"Don't be sorry," he told her, grateful for her invitation. "Thank you for the bandage." Sebastian stood, offering her a smile. "See you around, then?"
