Character A (me) is a plague doctor in a postapocalyptic world, that has been ravaged by a mysterious, infectious, and fatal disease known as "Dream Leprosy". Character B is A's partner, but they become overtaken. Infected. When Character A comes to study character b, and hopefully find a cure, the two embark on a quest to find the cure, before character B's time runs out

As a burn victim, she cant grow any hair, and her immune system isnt the best. She's fairly healthy now, but ever sense she was 6, she's been in and out of surgeries to heal and get better. her eyes are usually hazel, but sometimes appear a stormy blue. fairly short, wheelchair bound most of the time, although she has two prosthetic legs for when she feels like walking. her arms are fairly strong, as she uses a wheelchair, and sometimes needs crutches even with the prosthetics.

Personality: cold on the outside, but really easily distracted, and a real goof. He gets really embarrassed when you point out his goofiness

Nikolaia heard coughing coming from the bedroom of his small house as he walked in from a long three weeks of traveling to treat the infected. He took off his mask, fumbling with the straps which often got tangled in his hair. He called out "Hali? I'm back. Are you alright?" She usually would be bounding down the halls to greet him, followed closely in tow by their dog Bartleby. He took off his coat and boots and set them down in their respective places, to be washed later. He walked down the hall and turned into the bedroom

Hali coughed. "Niko? Don't come closer. i don't want you to get sick." she said, weakly, from the bedroom. "I don't know what i have, but it isnt any good." Bartleby whined from outside the bedroom door, wanting to see his 'mom' (for lack of better term)

Niko ignored her warning for the most part but stopped a few paces short of her. "Hali, I'm a doctor. I can go put my mask back on if you want but I have to examine you. Besides, I highly doubt it could be worse than what I deal with daily." He stated matter-of-factly with worry laced in his voice. He opted to put the mask on anyway because he doubted Hali would let him get any closer without it. When he returned, he shut the door behind him, keeping Bartleby out, because he was more worried about his son (again, for lack of a better term) catching whatever she had than he was about himself. He took out a stethoscope from his bag and listened intently to Hali's breathing, much to her protest

She let him, but only after she made sure the mask was on Niko securely. "it's probably just a cold. I get sick easily and badly-" she coughed harder, spitting blood. "Oh. maybe not the cold." she said, shocked. "Maybe you should help. But if i get you sick, i'll never forgive myself."

Niko panicked a bit but tried not to let Hali know. There were three big signs to Dream Leprosy, and so far, she was showing all but one. She had fluid in her lungs when Niko checked them, she spat up blood when she coughed, and now he had to wait for her to sleep, and if she cried, sweat, and dreamt of infection, he would have to diagnose her. with the illness fear most above all. "Honey, not to alarm you, but I'm less worried about me getting sick and more worried about what you might have"

"Niko, I'll be fine. I get sick all the time. but i survived a fire when i was four. im not letting an illness take me. " She said, coughing again. Bartleby scratched at the door, whining. "Don't let him in, he might get sick. I'm sorry i didnt make you dinner after your long trip… i would've, but i couldn't…"

Niko sighed. Not an irritated one, but more of an ' I love you, but you're sick so please stop worrying' kind of sigh. He stood and, in a loving tone, said "I love you and it's fine. I'll make dinner. What kind of soup do you want?" He gently pushed on her shoulder, guiding her to lay down on the bed, and stood straight again

"Uhm… do we have any more chicken? i like chicken soup." She said, thankful for the help. "But if we dont, i know we have some beef broth."

"Of course hon." He said tenderly. He walked out carefully, being sure to keep Bartleby out. He walked to the kitchen and put some chicken soup on the stove. He also put some chamomille tea on to steep

The coughing from the bedroom was loud, and getting louder. But she did seem to be fairly strong. It looked like she had cooked, cleaned, and moved about the house all the time niko had been gone. Although, who knew how long she's been sick?
