Name: Garthy Williams
Nicknames: Gare
Hero name: Hailstrom (not a typo)
Age: 20
Gender: genderfluid, he/they most days
Sexuality: heteroflexible
Race: caucasian
Looks:

  • Eyes: cerulean blue, paled and blind-looking
  • Hair: greying and patchy
  • Face: Jaunt, pale and like it was already decaying
  • Body: Strong, well-built and male presenting
  • Height: 6'0"
  • General weight: 200 lbs
  • Typical/Work Cloths: His hero suit (see attached image)
  • Distinguishing Marks: He looks like the walking dead, if you ever see him without his mask

Personality: Withdrawn. What little emotions they do feel, they don't show. While a hero, they act more like a villain- swift justice, usually ending in death. Still, he is successful with keeping their range of city safe, mostly because so many actually fear them. And their father.
Background: He was lost in a blizzard as a child; after the storm, he was found under two feet of hard-packed snow. He was suspected to be dead, seeing as he looked like a corpse and covered in frostbite, but in reality he had not only survived, but gained powers from the experience. Ne never talks about it, though, and no one involved in his rescue can be found or identified.
Strengths: Strengths: They are immune to water powers, and most emotional attacks
Weaknesses: Fire, and being forced to confront his past.
Powers: Ice Blast (shoots projectiles of ice and snow), Storm Eye (Isolates them with the opponent in a dome of ice and snow), and Hail Mary ( :) )
Other: They have a collection of snowballs from every winter since the storm.

Ironvein, one of the most crime ridden cities in the world.

It was also home to two of the most powerful vigilantes in the universe.

One had the ability to warp emotions, the other so cold it could kill. Stark opposites, and that's what made them so deadly. When they weren't putting criminals in jail, they were warring with each other, constantly trying to outdo the other.

It was a stereotypical stormy night. Thunder rolled overhead and lightning sent blinding flashes through the black sky. The sun had been gone for hours and clouds blocked out the moon and stars. Rain poured from these clouds, pounding against the sidewalks and roads in an almost deafening roar. Every rational soul had taken cover from the storm, and Shea was anything but rational.

The vigilante zoomed through vacant streets on her motorcycle, the hum of the wheels and engine almost impossible to hear over the rain. Water crashed into her helmet. She wiped the drops away only for more to take their place. She groaned in frustration.

Shea was not having the greatest of days. She slept through her alarm, was late to work and was given her last warning from her boss. One more time being late and Shea would be without a job. Not that vigilante-ing wasn't a job, it's just that it didn't pay nearly as much as a sous chef in a 5-star restaurant. She was finally looking forward to falling asleep on her couch while Judge Judy played in the background, but the radio in her room started going haywire, telling her that there was a serious threat approaching the city. A minute later Shea was driving through the city to stop whatever the hell was coming this time.

Soon enough, the air grew colder. Shea groaned again. "Really, Frosty?" She asked herself. Almost immediately after, Hailstrom came into view. They were down and ready to attack whatever was coming. Shea tapped the side of her helmet, turning on the voice distorter and parked her bike next to the other vigilante. "What's coming?" She asked through a robotic and warbled voice.

They stayed silent as a dark ship pulled away from the clouds.

"More importantly, who's coming?"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Don't know." Hailstrom didn't look to Shea as she pulled up, keeping their eyes trained on the sky and the threat coming from it. He did, really, have a very good idea of who this was, but he wasn't going to bring it up. Well, they had an idea as to who these people were tied to, and they didn't talk about that man.
"But they must be idiots, to think the rain will make anything easier in this city." Hailstrom had no filter, no new tones picked up to disguise his voice- He was forced to stay in his suit all the time anyway, with his health, so he didn't exactly have a secret identity. They couldn't even think about their real name without being reminded of their father, and that was no good at all.

The ship above warbled and a door opened from the bottom, the inside just as black as the outside. Shea huffed under her helmet and switched her gum to the other side of her mouth. She opened her mouth to offer a stupid quip, but the ship once again began to hum. Shea got off of her bike but left the engine running, just in case she needed to get some distance between her and Hailstrom. Her gloved hands pulled two gleaming daggers from her belt with a shiiink and crouched down, ready to fight if necessary. Odds are, it would be.

And then flying objects began to fall from the ship, zooming towards the two vigilantes. Shea cracked her neck and twirled one of the knives. There had to be hundreds, if not thousands of them.

"Hey Frosty," She turned to them. "Whoever takes down more of these drones gets bragging rights."

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

"Just don't let yourself freeze." Easy to take as a quip, but a common warning from Hailstrom. Literally, don't get in my way, or you'll have the same fate as the enemy. He held his hands up, the rain around them only helping to amplify his powers. They froze the rain falling right in front of them into projectiles, turning the ice bullets and aiming them at the swarm of drones before them. Just the same as he would any enemy- they tore through their targets, taking a little under fifty out in one quick attack.

Shea took a running start towards the drones, gaining momentum and leaping ten feet off the ground. She maneuvered her body in mid-air, landing on a drone and causing it to spin. After plunging a razor sharp knife into the drone's mainframe, Shea jumped off of it, kicking the bot in the direction of thirty others. The drones collided in a fiery explosion. One got a little too close, making Shea roll out of the way and throw a dagger into the machine. The drone crashed to the ground and Shea retrieved her knife from the wreckage.

She looked back up at the ship. More drones just kept pouring out of it. There was no way she could defeat them all on the ground.

On impulse, Shea began to run towards the ship, dodging drones and attacks from them. "Gotta take 'em out from the source, Frosty!" She called back to Hailstrom.

Shea leaped and landed on top of another drone, using it as a stepping stool. In a few more jumps, Shea was about fifty feet in the air. She continued to use the drones as stairs as she climbed to the ship. A lopsided smile cracked across her face when she stepped foot on the ship.

Hailstrom hadn't said a word, silently dealing with swaths of drones at a time. Still, even with his work, more drones came out of the ship at any moment than the man could destroy. So, they made the decision to head up to the ship with Shea. He continued with his powers, the pain falling on and around him freezing even without hem meaning to. So, he used this to his advantage- he froze a bridge up for himself, drones being caught in it for support as the man started running up.
"Careful, we don't know what we're going to find."

@larcenistarsonist group

Shea gave Hailstrom a short nod, acknowledging his presence. "Where do I have to take 'em out…" Shea asked herself, slowly walking forwards a few steps. The chamber was almost pitch black and suspiciously silent. Shea hesitantly took a few more steps, all of her senses on high alert for any danger. Her ears perked up when they caught a small humming noise… wait- a crescendoing humming noise. Shea hit the deck just as a wave of drones flew over her head at lighting speed. "Damn," She huffed, bringing herself to her feet and dusting off her knees. Without another word, Shea was walking in the direction that the drones came. She shot a look over her shoulder at Hailstrom and shouted, "Hey Frosty, you coming?"

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Hailstrom didn't fall to the floor when the drones came over them- he just froze the ones in his way. They didn't have the rain anymore, but they still had all the energy they needed to protect themselves and deal with this threat.
"I am." He didn't care whether the drones outside were being taken care of, or if they were burning the city to the ground. They'd be the one to defeat this villain.
"One of these days I'm going to turn her into a frozen popsicle," the man mumbled to himself. They were tired of the nicknames, and the flippant attitude.

@larcenistarsonist group

Shea ignored Hailstrom's comment and continued to venture down the pitch black corridor. Mental note- She muttered internally. Install night vision into my helmet. Her gloved fingers glided against the smooth steel walls as she walked. She pressed against the wall as more drones soar past her. She could hear Hailstrom's powers freezing the machines behind her. Once she was positive that the danger had passed, Shea broke into a light jog down the last bit of the hall.

Towards the end she came face-to-face with a solid steel wall. "The hell-" and then the wall split down the middle and another group of drones darted from the opening. Shea yelped and fell flat on her back.

@ElderGodSwimwithGamers group

Hailstrom followed after Shea as she moved down the corridor; if this was the way to the enemy, he'd allow her to go right ahead and be first. When she was taken down, they'd step in and defeat the villain. Hailstrom kept his hands to himself, seeing as if he touched the wall he might just end up freezing to it.

At the end of the way, Hailstrom didn't flinch as more drones came spitting out; he froze a path for himself, stopping the doors from closing with his ice.
"Need help up?" The hero asked, stepping over Shea on his way inside.

@larcenistarsonist group

"I'm fine," Shea groaned and lifted herself to her feet. "Thanks for asking, Frosty." She followed Hailstrom through the door and into an even darker room… if that was even possible. "You know anything about what we're up against?" She asked. Her hand once again found the wall and used it as a guide through the winding hallway.
