Belladonna glances at the other before humming in thought. "Not really, kid. I was just doing my job. If I had done better, I would have been here sooner." She looked guilty at that. She always felt that deaths were her fault during a mission. "However, you could point me to a good burger place? I'm a little hungry." She moves some hair from her face and walks over towards a challenger, its burgundy paint glinting slightly in the moonlight. "And a place to stay for the night before I head out in the morning?" She asks curiously.
"Oh uh, yes of course-" They give her directions to a nearby burger place just a few streets down, "And for a place to stay..uh..alot of hotels are filled to the brim with people this time of year, I can point you towards a hotel but if it's full you could always stay at my place, just a suggestion-" at this point Orion has made it their goal to repay this person in any way possible, even small things would count to them
Belladonna nods in thanks before pausing and glancing over the other. "Would it be okay if I crashed here? Just to keep an eye on you until morning comes around?" She was a little worried since the creature was in its teenage phase. Which suggested the possibility of a mother somewhere close. Of course she would have to report this the moment she got wifi. "Ah, I never got your name." She says hesitantly. "Or would you rather not tell me?"
"Oh, yeah its alright if you stay here. And uh, my names Orion, since you asked" They smile a bit before glancing back at the house for a bit, then at the jacket around their shoulders, "Oh uhm, do you want your jacket back?" They say as they slowly start to take the jacket off of their shoulders
She smiled gently at them before shaking her head. "No, no. I think after an experience like that you need it more than I do. I'll run and get some burgers real quick and then I'll be back. Take care of yourself, okay? I'll be back shortly…. Actually do you want to come with me? I want to keep an eye on you, make sure nothing happens." She offered her hand to the other.
Orion blinks and glances at her hand while putting the jacket back around their shoulders, smiling softly, "Yeah that sounds nice.." They smile and gently take her hand, going to stand next to her for a bit, "You're a really kind person"
She nods and smiles before opening the door on the passengers side for Orion. She clicks her tongue before she walks to the drivers side and buckles in. "Here's the thing… I may be kind, but you have to understand. I don't exist in the eyes of humanity. I don't have any records here. So… once we part ways you forget I ever existed, okay?"
"Mm..alright.." they agree after, admittedly some hesitation, but they understand. Whatever she..works for, or is a part of, probably doesn't want to be exposed to the public eye, and Orion themselves is a prime witness. Orion sits down in the passengers seat, trying to make sure not to slam the door too loud since they didn't want to seem too rude to the woman who literally saved their life
She smiled, "Thank you for understanding. It is also best that you forget the creature that attacked you." She smiles gently and pats Orion's hand before starting the car and moving out into the street. She hummed along with the radio as she drove, her thumbs drumming along with the beat as she drove. "If you want, I can remove your memories. The process is painless… and I could find something different to fill your memory. A more… human way?"
"No no, it's alright. I don't want to put you through anymore trouble, and either way it didn't scar me that much.." they smile and look at Belladonna again, at her face and watching her expression. "Either way, I wouldn't tell anyone since you don't want me to. I'm not a liar or a backstabber, when I promise something I never break that promise" they look back out the window, smiling as they rest their head against the glass
She nods and hums softly. "I'm a little surprised if I'm being honest… I mean… Your family was killed… and you were almost killed… are you sure it just hasn't hit you?" She murmured quietly as she glances over at the other. "Thank you. If word got out, I'd surely get into loads of trouble." She chuckled softly before they pulled into the burger place. However, something didn't feel right. It had light… but there was barely any activity. "Stay in the car." She whispered, grabbing her sword.
Orion blinks and looks into the burger place. Barely any people, just a lone cashier who honestly looked kindof dead inside, "Well…alright then.." they mumble and shrink back in their seat slightly, shivering a bit and looking at Belladonna. They were slightly confused, yet slightly creeped out at the same time
She nods slowly and exits the car quietly. She enters the burger place. After a moment it was apparent something was indeed wrong. The lights flickered off, dark shadows moving within. In about five minutes, the lights were back on, Belladonna bruised up a bit, but okay. The creatures were gone however. She calmly ordered her food before exiting like it was a normal day for her. She lifted her phone in her hands and typed as she entered the car. "All clear." She says simply, offering some food to Orion. "Wasn't sure what you wanted. Take your pick."
"Oh..alright" Orion blinks and looks at Belladonna, then at the bag of food. They take out a chicken sandwich, setting it in their lap and shivering a bit. "Thank you..are you alright?" They blink and glance at Belladonnas bruises, wanting to make sure that she wasn't too bruised up- they shift around in their seat, glancing into the burger place for a few seconds
She nods a little bit and smiles. "Sieluttomat. They're pretty much harmless. Of course one had a few anger issues, but everything is handled." She hummed and grabbed a burger, taking a bite and letting out a hum of satisfaction. "You can unbuckle if you want…" She paused for a moment and glanced at the other. "My question is, can you see them? Most people only hear noises of the creatures I hunt. But… it seems like you can see them too." She tilts her head a little. "Maybe you touched the mucus of the Terrorem… that would explain how you see them." She hummed and leaned back in her chair, taking a sip of her water.
Orion scrunches up their nose in disgust from what Belladonna suggested, huffing softly and opening the sandwich to take a bite. "Don't think I did..that's kindof gross.." they mumble and pick up the sandwich, looking it over for a bit before taking a bite. "Eh..mediocre..they were better when I used to get them.." they mumble to themselves
She hummed and shrugged. "Who knows. Maybe you were blessed with sight or had an interaction with a creature and had no idea. Who knows…" She chuckles a little before glancing over at the other. "What do you mean?" She asks curiously. She tilts her head a little bit in curiosity. She finished her burger quietly, and sipped at her water before she starts up the car again.
They shrug and take another bite of their sandwich, finishing the bite and shivering a bit. "I mean, the last few times I've had a chicken sandwich from here, it tasted way better. They must've switched ingredients or something, they should'nt have, the way they were making it was already good" Orion huffs and crumples up they he wrapper into a ball, throwing it into the takeout bag
She nods a little and sighed deeply. "Well… let's get you home, if it's okay with you I can crash on the couch and I'll be out of your hair before sunrise… and I can probably fix your door when we get you back home." She smiles softly and pulls out of the parking lot and back onto the road. She hummed along with the radio, her eyes scanning the roads.
"Alright then.." they hum in response and look out the window, watching buildings and houses pass by as they think to theirselves. A somewhat absurd thought passes through their mind; what if they..joined whatever kind of, group, Belladonna was in? It would be the ultimately good way to pay her back, and they could maybe stop other people from having to experience the same thing that they did
She nods and smiles a little bit, getting lost in her own thought. The drive back was pretty quiet, other then her quiet humming. She pulled into the driveway of Orion's home and smiled a little bit. "Alrighty then! I'll fix your door. How are you feeling? Is the jacket comfy?" She asks, a knowing smile on her lips. The jacket was part of her "uniform". She hops out of the car cheerfully.
"Thank you very much" Orion smiles and opens the door, getting out and closing it soon after. "I'm alright, and yeah, it's a nice jacket.." they respond and look around for a bit, humming to themselves as they start walking over to the front door
She nods and smiles softly. "I'm glad. We usually get a jacket or something of the sort when we first join…" She shrugged a little before glancing over the front door. She paused and listened for a moment before nodding. "No one there." She murmured before walking forward and carefully hauling the door up into it's normal position. "Yeah… I'll fix this up in less then 20 minutes."
Orion huffs softly and watches Belladonna, following her and standing behind her for a bit. "Alright then..well..I can get some extra blankets and sheets out for you, if you'd like" they offer, smiling and tilting their head as they watch her
Belladonna hummed and nods a little bit. "Thank you. But… I think I'm okay. No need to worry. I'll just sleep on the couch." She chuckles and gets to work on the door, "If you have tools, that would be great though." She hummed thoughtfully, her eyes narrowing slightly as she rubs off some of the goop.
